This fictional tour takes you back to the 7th of April 1590 and follows Anne Pedersdotter who has been condemned to burn at the stake, convicted a witch. Accompany her on her last walk through 16th century Bergen as she recounts the story of her demise. From the respected wife of a prominent priest and teacher, best friends with the Governor's wife, to being found guilty of witchcraft. Anne will guide you around Vågen, the fjord of Bergen, revealing the 16th century landmarks of this powerful fishing port. You will encounter the wooden houses of Bryggen, Lille Øvergaten, the oldest cobbled street in Bergen, and pass by the famous Fish Market on Strandkaien. She will bring you all the way to the Witches' Monument on the tip of Nordnes, the site of her execution.

Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf
Bryggen, the old wharf of Bergen, is a reminder of the town's significance as a feature of the Hanseatic League's trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century. Numerous fires have ravaged the trademark wooden houses of Bryggen.
The Holy Cross Church or Korskirken was built in the latter part of the 1100s. There have been numerous augmentations, reproductions and rebuilding efforts through the ages, frequently because of the many fires which have ravaged the church and town.

4.00It was a fun experience and we saw quite a lot in the mountains of the 16th century. The century...🤣 On the trail to the flaming finale we could discover nice hidden corners, partly away from the tourists... I would have liked something more historical about mountains, but in itself a great way to explore the city. Technically, everything worked fine, even if I didn't have a net from time to time and then got kicked out...

4.00The tour start was easy to find. We liked hearing the story, the background history and the walk through the beautiful streets. So sad 350 women were condemned as “witches” during 150 years. Also sad that “pack” mentality still exists in our world. Would very much recommend this tour, even in the rain.

5.00A great foot tour of Bergen while hearing a riveting story. This was a marvelous way to see the city. We stopped by several unscheduled stops for a glass of wine, a bit of shopping and lunch at the fish market. Only negative was the distance from our cruise ship to the start point. We took the Hop on Hop off bus around first and then got off to do the walk.

5.00Had a couple of days in Bergen prior to a cruiser and than a couple of days after the cruise.. Loved just walking around, plenty of little 'hideaways', just take a walk up the sidestreets or laneways. Need to hop on the Finicula for a great view of the city, not expensive and the view is spectacular, especially at night for photographers. The wharf and Bryggen is also first-rate. Yes, I'd go back again.

3.00I love audio tours. This one did a good job with GPS and telling you where to go. Clear directions are important. If the story were true, it would have made it better. Also, it didn't really point out many landmarks. Just walking and listening to a story. It is very inexpensive though so if you want a little entertainment and a walk, it's fine.

2.00At the beginning of the tour, you get some interesting facts about Bergen in the late 16th century, about the live as a women and the trading. The tour starts at the Rosenkranztower and you walk to Bryggen. Then the story becomes more and more about the witch itself and how she feels. And one point we stopped the tour because we had the feeling that we would not get any new facts from it. We heard the rest at home and indeed, everything we missed (the whole part at Nordnes peninsular) was mostly her describing her walk to her execution. I would recommend to walk the tour since it covers the most important buildings of Bergen, but take your information out a travelguide or from the internet to also get some information about more recent buildings etc.
