We wanted a tour that started in Elmina and this was the perfect find. The whole team was excellent and knowledgeable and we were able to accommodate some changes to the itinerary based on our interests. We would highly recommend this tour with this team and would definitely reach out to them when we come back to Ghana as they offer much more than a day tour. thank you!!

I booked this tour the night before, so I appreciate their availability to provide me a tour. Given that it was only me, they adjust the tour to be the Elmina Slave Dungeon and a tour of Elmina. Both tour guides were very knowledgeable of the community's history. I greatly appreciated this cultural tour.

The walking tour of Cape Coast and Elmina is an eye-opening and profound experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Ghana. This tour offers a poignant journey through Ghana's history, focusing on the harrowing era of the Atlantic slave trade. Nana was exceptionally knowledgeable and sensitive in discussing this difficult subject matter. We started at Elmina Castle, a site that served as a major hub of the slave trade. As we walked through the dungeons and courtyards, our guide painted a vivid picture of the unimaginable suffering endured by the countless Africans who passed through these walls. Despite the heavy topic, the tour was not entirely somber. We also learned about the resilience and rich cultural traditions of the Ghanaian people, and how they have worked to overcome this painful past. The contrast between the stark white castle walls and the colorful fishing boats in the harbor was striking. Next, we visited Cape Coast Castle, another key site in the slave trade history. Here, we further explored the complexities of Ghana's past and the impacts of European colonialism. The beautiful coastal setting of Cape Coast Castle, with its crashing waves and sea breezes, provided moments of quiet reflection. Throughout the tour, Nana encouraged questions and fostered a respectful atmosphere for discussion. The small group size allowed for a more intimate and personalized experience. While confronting the brutalities of the slave trade was emotionally challenging, I left the tour with a deeper understanding and appreciation for Ghana's history and its ongoing journey of healing and growth. The walking tour of Cape Coast and Elmina is a must for any traveler seeking a meaningful, educational experience in Ghana. It's a testament to the importance of remembering and learning from even the darkest chapters of human history.

If you're on the fence about booking a tour or trip with Nana, don't think about it; DO IT. He's incredible. The first thing is that he really gets to know you (yes even via text message). He really does a fantastic job in the early planning stages, and what's so nice about working with him versus other companies is how flexible he and his team are. They asked about our preferred budget for accommodation, food, and among other questions that are really important when it comes to traveling. Then, he crafted the experience. Originally I had reached out to him for a tour of Accra, but what he offered us was so incredible! He let us know about a festival happening in Elmina, his home, and it really fit the vibes we were looking for our experience with Nana. He quickly re-arranged the trip, coordinated all details and even changed a few things here and there last night due to my friend's delayed flight. He was on it at every point of the planning process, and we haven't even gotten to the good part yet! Nana picked us up and was incredibly professional yet SO FUN. We had such good conversations with him about travel, life in Ghana and life in general. He provides so much more than a tour or a surface level trip. It is a life experience, which is so much better and so refreshing to find nowadays. We experienced the Bakatue Festival and not only experienced the rich culture of the traditions and the people, but we also experienced the nightlife culture and had an incredible time going out and exploring Elmina with Nana and other members of his team. For someone who considers herself a traveler, and has backpacked and gone many places: I don't think it gets better than Nana. In the end, Nana became our friend, and traveling companion - leading us to experienced some unforgettable memories that we will be forever thankful for. Like I said in the beginning: if you are here reading this review, don't think and just book! His experiences and companionship while you travel Ghana are absolutely more than worth it. Thank you SO much Nana!!! <3

My tour guide NaNa was absolutely fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. He was also very personable and fun to be with the entire day. We had so much together learning, and embracing ourselves in the culture that at the end of the day it was hard to say good. We created memories and established a friendship that will last a long time.

First and foremost Nana, was very kind, respectful and very funny. He always made sure we were always comfortable and always told us what was going to happen, we had an itinerary and we followed it but he was also able to add extra activities. He has extensive knowledge and background of Ghana, especially the Western region, which makes him the perfect tour guide. Malik was our driver, he was also fantastic. He drove us comfortably and very safely to all of our destination. He's also a great chef and he tells the best jokes. I'm planning to visit Ghana very soon, and I can't think of exploring Ghana without Nana and Malik. They are two great guys and the perfect duo! Well done guys 👏🏾

Was recommended this tour by a friend who gave rave reviews. Looking for something that would be inclusive of our 2yr old had us skeptical. But Nana made me feel at ease from first communication. Tour was tailored to our needs, his knowledge, experience and passion was top level and you can see he is well loved within the community. A MUST on the to do list when you visit Ghana! Professional, polite and he leaves you inspired to learn more of your history. Many thanks Nana!
