We really enjoyed our walking tour with John. What he doesn't know about Kilkenny isn't worth knowing. Just the right amount of detail, walking distance was perfect and the tour was good value for money. John is well known in the area which adds a very personal touch. We would definitely recommend the tour.

John was an amazing guide! Such a warm person with plenty of knowledge about both the history of Kilkenny and Ireland. He was truly a gem! We had a lot of fun learning and exploring places we otherwise would have missed and felt well looked after throughout the tour. Thank you!

We had the most enjoyable private tour with John. He went out of his way to explain all the sites he shared with us. My family Heritage is partially the Comerford side so we laughed that we are distant relatives. He was able to tell me where to find the rosary beads in the Rothe museum given to the Comerford's in the mid 1600's. He spent over 3 hours with us. We learned so much about the area our ancestors walked. We especially loved how he interacted with the community. Everyone knows him and stops to chat it up. He got youth to demonstrate hurling for us. We met the oldest man in KilKenny at 94 sharp as a tack. We couldn't have enjoyed our time with him more!

This was a great tour! We walked from one end of town to the other and many side streets. So much to see and do in Kilkenny, this was a wonderful way to get an overview. We can prioritize and return to things we liked best, plus now we know right where they are. It was very easy to find our meeting point, at the end of High Street farthest from the castle, there is a T shaped intersection. You’ll see a black statue of a face. That’s St Canice, and you meet right there. Thank you John, for your generous hospitality in showing us around this lovely town!

We enjoyed our afternoon with John, we come from the same family ancestry which made our time together even more special. He was able to tell me where to find the Comerford rosary in the Rothe house museum. He shared so much of KilKenny history. It was so amazing walking the same area my ancestors did in the Medieval times. Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us. A memory I will cherish! P.S. Everyone in town knows John so talking to the locals including a 94 year old man was icing on the cake!

John is local to Kilkenny so he can speak to the history of town. He was very kind to answer all our questions. Most folks waved to him as we walked by.
