It was a great introduction to the different tribes and culture of Namibia. We enjoyed local delicacies and listened to the local talent sing. It was a short trip but worth the experience.

We appreciated his waiting over an hour for an extremely slow immigration process in leaving the ship. A later starting time to allow for immigration delays would have helped. From the 3rd seat in the van Frans was difficult to hear. We had to ask him several times to speak louder. He responded but only for a few minutes so we missed most of his narrative. We had hoped to see more of classical Swakomund, like getting out of the van for some photographs. His only concession was to travel both directions in front of the train station so people on both sides could see. A real plus was a stop to see flamingos! Mondesa Township was interesting, but winding up and down many streets felt way out of balance. He covered the Herero culture quite well. It seemed odd that we stopped for a concert in the township where Frans was a member. It felt like he invited us to his personal show. He frequently asked if anyone had questions, but with so little information we had very few. Most were answered by people in the front of the van. It looked like he had intended to entirely skip the visit to Dune 7. Sensing his ignoring the stop, one of the tour members requested a stop, so he simply pulled to the side of the road for 15 minutes.

Our Tour Guide Tuyeni gave us an excellent tour through Walvis Bay, Namib Desert and Swakopmund incl. his Township. We learnt a lot about desert survival and township culture!

The driver was very professional. He was on time to pick us. Exhilarating climb on Dune 7. Enjoyed the rich history of the city of Swakopmund, the nice traditional dishes and the art.
