5.00Gunnar picked our party of four at the airport then we drove to Snaefellsnes Peninsula stopping at several sights and hiking down a lava tunnel. The scenery was green and lush with waterfalls, mountains and rivers. For five days he drove us through the Westfjords expertly driving on rough roads but that didn’t matter with his 4-wheel drive Mercedes van. He selected perfect hotel accommodations and organized everything. He knows many proprietors living in Iceland his entire life. He had many surprises like the perfect place to see puffins and eat delicious desserts. We crossed the country to Reynisfjara eating langoustine at my favorite restaurant, Fjorubordid. He delivered us to our hotel for three night in Reykjavík then our final day, was picked up and taken to the airport. This is my third time using Friend in Iceland and I wouldn’t see the country any other way.
