We get views of the wildlife of the salt marsh that people almost never have an opportunity to see. We sail daily from April until October so we always know where we are likely to see the most interesting birds and with 25 years of experience running these tours we know where we are likely to have the best trip. Our route varies daily depending on conditions.

What To Expect

Cruising through the coastal Salt Marsh behind Cape May and Wildwood viewing the birds and marine life that live there. We get up close to many different species of birds with views that people rarely get to see of some of the secretive birds of the wetlands. Being out in the wetlands every day for six months gives us a unique ability to find and closely visit with many different species of birds. Cruises on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings are longer and higher priced than cruises on other days and times.

This wasn't our first trip on the Osprey, but we always love coming back. Every outing is different, and this was no exception. We haven't been this late in the year before, but we were really surprised by how many birds we saw, including many we haven't seen before. Captain Bob is very knowledgable about the wetlands and it's winged inhabitants. We were also accompanied on the trip by a wonderful nature guide. From her we learned many things about the birds and the environment that we hadn't heard before. We'll be back next year!

This was an excellent tour and a great value. They didn't skimp on time or distance travelled to get us close up to a wide variety of birds. We have recommended this to friends and will certainly be doing it again when back in Cape May.

The safari into the salt marshes to see the wildlife and receive the expertise about it was excellent. The boat's captain ensured everyone on board had an opportunity to view the birds as closely as possible.

My whole family did this tour while we were visiting Cape May, and even with an age range of 70+ years from oldest (my mother) to youngest (my daughter), every single one of us had a fantastic time. We saw all kinds of birds, in many cases from incredibly close up. One of the best family birding experiences we’ve ever had. Captain Bob was great, and Pam, the naturalist, was incredible! My daughter was completely absorbed by everything Pam had to share. We loved it and plan to do it again!

I’m having mobility problems and was prepared not to be able to get on boat but Bob loosened lines and had all stand on back platform so I could walk right on and off. Thank you so much! Having the naturalist on board this year made the trip extra special as both added their own insights about the birds of the marshlands. I recommend this trip if you’ve never taken it as it gives a perspective you don’t get from land. Plus Bob always knows where the birds are. You will never be disappointed.

This was our 2nd trip on the Osprey, and we definitely enjoyed it just as much this time around! The route varies with where the birds are, so we traveled to and saw different areas from the earlier trip 2 summers ago. The captain is very knowledgable about what is happening with the different bird populations around the area and adjusts the trip accordingly., explaining things in a very engaging way. Great time out on the water for the "bird nerd" in our group as well as those of us just along for the ride!
