What To Expect
Super fun rafting in glacial meltwater flowing through collapsed lava tubes from Mt. Adams volcano, a USA National Wild and Scenic River - it's stunning! Adventure awaits in Class III+ rapids during summer months with Class IV in high water springtime. Husum Falls, an optional Class IV waterfall; contingent upon conditions. Your 4 hour experience includes all the equipment you need, just bring a good attitude for 1.5-2 hours of world class whitewater. Meet PDX Raft: The Portland Rafting Company at our outpost in White Salmon. Our friendly staff will check you in and get you suited up for the river! Nervous? No need to worry - expert guides will do a river orientation so you know what to expect. 8.5 miles / 2.5 - 3 hour river trip of world class whitewater. Take a moment to change into dry clothes, then relive your river rafting trip by viewing photos from the day. Bring a picnic and chill out amongst the beautiful trees of the Pacific Northwest or enjoy the small town of White Salmon!

5.00We had an awesome time on our half-day trip down the White Salmon River. My experience out there is fairly limited, but I'd call it everything you'd want in a raft trip – it was exciting, exhilarating, beautiful, and, above all, safe. The team did a great job preparing us for the trip, and our guide, Tom, was excellent. Everyone in our raft had an incredible time—I can't say enough good things.

5.00We had the best time ever with our guide Scott! He is the owner of the small company. It was so fun and educational. We saw a lot of the big companies along our route that had packed down boats with 5-6 boats in a row. It was so nice just having the two boats with each having 2-3 customers. He let my 9 year old daughter ride some of the drops like a bull upfront. We stoped for a cliff jumps as well. When we are back in Portland we will definitely book with PDX again!

5.00Thank you, Henry! And thanks for the team, the bus driver, the photographer, both guides, and the KITTIE 🐱! It was my very first time on whitewaters or on a raft in general, and I was so scared but Henry made it really entertaining and easy to learn. The team walked us through everything but your natural instinct does kick in and help too. They also provided all the gear needed like wetsuits and even the shoes 👟. Just wear your swimsuit, no socks, or short workout clothes. No cottons! You’ll be warm enough form the paddling so no heavy clothing needed. The water doesn’t feel as clod even though it’s at 45 degrees (I went in August). You’ll be warm from working so it felt good splashing on us. We stopped at some amazing spots on of which you can dip in the water. I wanted to do that jump but was hesitant. Next time I will for sure though. We rafted through gorgeous scenery. There wasn’t a lot of sun so we didn’t need sunglasses with all the trees🌲. I feel silly for being scared now because it’s not as complicated as I thought. It’s actually very simple to follow and the raft is so sturdy and takes most of the hits. Pretty impressive. I have zero muscles but didn’t need any with all the teamwork! And the water was refreshing 🌊! By far one of the best bonding experiences for me and my friends. And thanks for the photos 📸!! I’ll definitely be back for another trip. Keep up the good work!!

5.00We did an amazing half-day rafting trip with PDX Rafting on the White Salmon and it was such a blast! The site was super easy to find in our RV, and the whole setup had a chill, welcoming vibe while we geared up. The river itself was gorgeous—calm stretches where you can just take it all in, mixed with adrenaline-pumping rapids that kept things exciting. Corbin, our guide, was awesome—super friendly, funny, and really knowledgeable. He made the trip even better and kept us feeling safe the whole time. We did end up capsizing, but thanks to the clear safety instructions we knew exactly what to do and it honestly just added to the adventure. The cliff jump was a must (so much fun!) and going over Husum Falls was epic. Definitely a highlight. Be prepared to get absolutely soaked with glacial water, but that’s half the fun. Genuinely the guides made the experience, so much energy and you could tell they love their job which is just awesome. I’d do it all over again

5.00On arrival we were greeted by Noah and JJ who got us all situated for adventure. Corbin, our raft guide was knowledgeable about the area and how to run the white salmon that was both exciting and always in control. Our trip included a 14 foot off a ledge plunge, yes the water is very cold, many rapids which warmed us up for the class 5 end of run plunge. Brrrrrrrrr but fun. Thank you Corbin and PDX for a memorable day.
