What To Expect
Set in the lowlands of the rainforest, with breathtaking views of tropical birds and lush jungle landscapes this section of the Sarapiquí River is perfect for all levels of paddlers, from experts to beginners and families. The crystal clear waters and action packed class II & III rapids for 2 ½ hours along the 14 Km stretch will ensure an unforgettable experience for every rafting enthusiast. Sarapiquí allows you to not only enjoy the many of splash rapids but also revisit that childhood freedom to play. Relax in the flat crystal pools between the rapids swimming and splashing around. The trip will finish at the Sibaja Family property, There you will be able to shower and change in private facilities and get ready for a Costa Rican lunch at Soda Marielos.

5.00My family and I went with a school trip all over Costa Rica adventuring with Johnny and his crew as our guides- from white water to night jungle excursions, learning indigenous pottery to releasing hatching sea turtles, it was a tremendous experience for all! Johnny and his guides held a safe place for us to try new adventures! I am so grateful to Flow trips!

5.00We had an amazing experience with this company. They were very accommodating to our family. They suggested our youngest 2 did a river tour due to the rapids being a bit hard for them so we split up and had a blast! Abel and Mau were EXCELLENT. Abel was compassionate and taught my younger boys what do and had them move to the front for the final rapids. Bryan was excellent with the younger boys. They even saw a Caimen! It was a leisurely float while watching for wildlife. We would definitely recommend this company and were pleased with the pictures at the end. Oh Abel even taught the boys how to plant a pineapple and Mau caught fish.

5.00My daughter and I went on the rafting tour. What a great trip and friendly guides from start to finish. Balu was a great driver, Moe was awesome with pics and safety in the kayak and Abel was a wealth of knowledge about the trees, wildlife and river. We experienced a massive traffic jam 2.5 miles from our hotel on the return drive and decided to just walk back. Abel refused to let us go alone and escorted us back in the rain. What an amazing guide on the river and off. Muchas gracias, Abel!!

5.00We loved this class 3-4 rapids rafting trip!! Our guides were friendly and we had a BLAST on this whitewater rafting trip!! We had a driver, two guides in the raft and an additional guide in a kayak to go ahead and get in place to get great photos of us! We were the only raft on our trip and we thoroughly enjoyed the personal attention we got. I think it's a small company with excellent attention to detail and really skilled and knowledgeable guides!! We LOVED our trip!! We were in great hands with Mauricio (in the Kayak), Esteban driving, Steven helping guide the raft and our excellent lead raft guide, Bella!! These guys were fantastic!!! And our trip started off with seeing a Scarlet Macaw on the drive to the river - we stopped and Bella took excellent photos - it was really special and they were so excited to share a stunning, local bird with us!! This was an amazing day out!!

5.00Our Travel Agent, Costa Rica Experts, booked a rafting trip for us with Flow Trips. Flow Trips picked us up promptly at our hotel, Arenal Amor. We went rafting with Bella in our raft and Maurice in a safety kayak. Both of our guides and our driver were awesome. The rapids were Class II and III and just as described. We had a great time on the river. We didn't see any other rafters on the water. We did see a few tubers. Halfway through the trip we stopped to stretch our legs and they cut up a pineapple and some mangoes. After the trip we stopped for a delicious lunch. We were able to change into dry clothes before lunch and they provided towels. I highly recommend this operation. It is first class service.

5.00I had so much fun on the rafting tour. I came with my sister to celebrate her birthday. Mauricio was awesome and super knowledgeable! Gustavo was also really nice and took great pics of us. I highly recommend this tour 10/10!

Fabulous first time whitewater rafting trip!

5.00My adult daughter and I had a fabulous half day whitewater rafting trip with our Flow tour guides Mauricio and Vela. We had never gone whitewater rafting before. We received detailed instructions, including safety precautions; were given helmets and life jackets; and did some practice with the two other tourists in our raft before we set out. Vela was our guide in the raft, with Mauricio following along in his kayak. We had a fun break in the middle for a bit of swimming and a snack - freshly cut, locally grown pineapple and watermelon. Bring a water bottle and wear water shoes - you need them for getting in and out of the boat at the beginning and end of the trip and during the break in the middle. Bring a strap to hold your sunglasses if you plan to wear them - you will get splashed! Unless your camera or phone is in a waterproof bag, don’t bring it. The driver stayed with the van during our excursion (which we especially appreciated since we were in transit and had all our luggage with us). Bring dry clothes to change into - There are changing rooms when you get out. We were then taken to a restaurant 5 minutes away where we had an excellent lunch of rice, beans, plantains and a choice of fish, chicken, meat or vegetarian. This was an awesome experience. Highly recommended!!

5.00We really enjoyed our family rafting experience. Although we had never practiced it, we felt safe with Gonzalo, who supported us and encouraged us the entire way, making us form a great team. In addition to having fun, we were able to enjoy the beautiful environment that surrounded us, including a multitude of animal species. All the instructors were very friendly and we loved ending the day with a typical lunch. We would repeat without hesitation.
