What To Expect
We will head to the Pejibaye River for your lesson. This is a super fun river to learn and increase your skills on a Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP). Current water levels will determine exact location. A section of this river was used for the whitewater kayak slalom international competition and often paddlers can paddle through the gates on the course. We like to use the first section of river to work, to learn and practice, so you become more comfortable with turns, and experience “pushy” water. You'll get to experience just the right amount of rapids, rocks and swift water while paddling below the jungle canopy. This is one of our favorite sections of rivers in all of Costa Rica because there are spots where the trees completely cover the river with vines and branches, making you feel like you are in a movie set. Please wear water shoes that can be tied or strapped to your feet and bring a reusable water bottle.

5.00Best rafting trip I’ve ever done. Besides the amazing views and experience, the guides were world class. I’ve been on several rafting trips and never experienced the ease and experience of these guides. I enjoyed it so much and felt so confident in their abilities that I want to go back for a kayak trip.

5.00We had a blast! This is a definite vacation must for families, couples, girls trips, etc! It was high adventure, but not super dangerous. The guides are so knowledgeable we never felt unsafe. But the rapids were awesome. I've done river rafting in Utah and this was way better!

5.00I recently spent three days SUP surfing and five days SUP the Sarapiqui river and the Pacuare River with a jointly organized trip between theriversupguy and Amazing Vacations. The guides made the entire trip adventurous and yet safe and doable. Although we were paddlers there was the option of a raft on the final day for those who felt out of their skill set. Walter and Arnaldo have river and paddling knowledge to share. They know where to stay, where the put ins and take outs are, what the water levels are, and the lines to run. Most importantly they provided safety , laughter, a sense of camaraderie and reverence for the people and land of Costa Rica. Truly an adventure that I will return for .
