Unfortunately we had a disappointing experience on this tour. The main things that let us down is that we didn’t get the full tour that was advertised and feedback was not received well by any of the staff. Our tour group got split into two different groups and we were second to leave but first to come back. The other tour traveled further which seemed unfair. Getting in and out of the marina and stopping approx 7 times really ate into the advertised (2 hour) driving time. Compared to other tours in Airlie the information on the meeting point and what to bring etc is not up to standard on Viator which we booked through. Taking many other tours this trip we felt far more informed about what where and how than this tour. We had a girl on our trip who had been on the same tour a couple of days before and came back because it was a good experience but she was also very disappointed about the day we experienced and she said it was very different. There were other guests in our group who also shared the disappointment. The staff seemed very resistant in receiving feedback and recognizing our concerns. I spoke to a total of 4 staff along with my partner and two other guests and no one was helpful to us. We tried to give facts and constructive feedback but it felt like receiving feedback was not in their job description and they had to get someone else to deal with it. They took our numbers and email to get in contact with us and unfortunately we have not heard from them. We understood that safety/winds/tides all come into consideration when planning tours but seeing another group get more for their money seemed unfair considering we all paid the same. You do not go on the route that is outlined on the brochure but apparently it depends on the tour guide you get as they take different routes. I think some consistency could really help this issue or giving the groups the same experience. They joked around when demonstrating how to use the jet ski which we thought was unprofessional on top of everything else. The swimming spot was an interesting choice as we were close to land but it felt like the middle of the ocean because it was so deep so we didn’t end up swimming. It seemed like the easier and more convenient option for the guide and not the guests. It’s a shame because we were looking forward to this and it did not meet expectations. As someone who loves going on tours and shares positive experiences I’m sad to say this isn’t worth it - It’s a lot of money for an unpredictable experience & staff with poor customer service skills, I do not recommend.
