Our intermediate climb involves approximately 3hrs of climbing steel ladder rungs and crossing 6 bridges next to a spectacular waterfall and finishes with approximatley 45 minutes walk down a mountainside trail. This tour is perfect for active adventurers who love the exploring outdoors, waterfalls and beautiful places. You will be climbing next to vertical waterfalls and being happy with heights helps! Stay dry. No experience required.
If you are hesitant or just want a smaller taste, we recommend our Level 1 / Beginner climb.

Minimum age on this tour is 12 years. If you are under 16, you must climb our via ferrata with an adult guardian. For children under 12 a private tour may be an option. Please request upon booking.
All minors (16 years and under) require an adult guardian’s signature on their waiver. There are no upper age limits to this activity.
Please advise if over 220 pounds (100kg) or under 88 pounds (40kg)

What To Expect
Join us on the highest waterfall cable climb in the World. We are right there by your side as you challenge yourself and your comfort zone. Our Level 2, Intermediate climb, is an epic climb that just keeps getting better. The route follows on from Level 1 with great views, and some steeper sections. You are guaranteed a climb you will remember. Our tours take place on a private working deer farm, nestled in the mountains, 20 minutes drive from Wanaka. The air is clean and the views just keep getting better and better the higher we go. It is an adventure of a lifetime. We proudly stand by our clean record – with guides, training, gear and policies that keep it that way.

5.00This was my favourite experience in NZ. The ferrata course allows you to tackle challenging terrain more easily - this was easily doable with a (very) moderate level of fitness. It's a great experience - literally climbing up the side of a waterfall and crossing bridges back and forth across it - so much fun! We had fantastic views all the way back to Wanaka. Our guide Maddie was very reassuring and encouraging. She made sure that everyone had a great time. The provided morning tea and lunch (from Fedeli Cafe in Wanaka) was excellent. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun half day out.
Wildwire Wanaka is an absolute must do activity.

5.00We had the most amazing time doing Level 2 at Wildwire Wanaka. Our guide Sophia was excellent - very encouraging and always making sure we were safe and feeling confident. The climb was such fun and a little challenging, and it certainly took me out of my comfort zone. We all felt a sense of achievement at the end and sorry it was over. We can not recommend Wildwire Wanake and our wonderful guide Sophia enough. Do yourself a favour and try it as it's a fantastic way to spend half a day.

5.00BUCKET LIST EXPERIENCE - such an amazing time. Completed L2 in approximately 3.5 hours, filled with rock scaling, bridges, stream crossings, and bridges. This is a thrill seeker’s playground, and even though I don’t have any climbing experience, it was super intuitive and friendly (as long as you don’t have a fear of heights). Tour guide Jason was great at walking us through the safety, providing guidance in the navigation of the mountain, and taking amazing pictures! I want to do this everywhere I go - can’t say enough good things about this experience!

5.00This was an amazing adventure! With some prior climbing experience, level 2 was the perfect length and difficulty to have a great time. Even without climbing experience this would still be a great experience as it is safe and well maintained. The guides were great as well (shout out to Phil!).
Climbing this waterfall with Sophia was perfect!

The climb was safe and you climb in small groups so you get to know your guide a little, get a great workout and accomplish an amazing climb up a waterfall. Do it! It’s so fun and I hope you get Sophia as your guide because she is a blast and so fun to talk to! What a fun surprise this whole experience was!!

5.00Wild Wire Wanaka was in the top 3 most awesome things we did on our trip through NZ! The views over the surrounding area were incredible, and climbing over a waterfall was such a unique experience. The guides were fantastic! All of them were lovely, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their jobs. I would 100% recommend this to everyone. I’ve honestly never seen an experience like this anywhere else. An absolute must do if you’re in Wanaka!!
