  We had an AMAZING day!The chateau was a little disorganized so we were there longer than planned but all worked out. It was perfect for us! Our guide was concerned it would ruin our time but it actually made it better. The Chateau lies at about 8000 feet, there is uneven territory and steps so be prepared. Stunning views, friendly people, birds, plants, wine. We drove to the Matan village where a Town festival was occurring. Women and families decked out in traditional clothes. Again, do amazing to see. Because we were at the Chateau longer than expected, we didn't get out in Antigua. Rather, our friendly and knowledgeable guide, Santiago, drove us around and talked history and architecture. Antigua was so crowded we went to taste rum a bit farther out. The rum was fabulous. To top it off, we got to see Fuego significantly burp and expell smoke, steam, and ash. What was even more cool, is that we watched it live on You Tube while we watched it live from the car. I would recommend this tour. And based on our experience with Nelson and Santiago, we'd book through them again. Thanks for giving us an absolutely PERFECT day. Remember, it's not about the destination, it's the experiences getting there.

  We had a really great experience on this private tour. Ramiro was an excellent guide and his English was excellent. He went out of his way to ensure that we had a great time, saw as much as we possibly could, and answered our questions knowledgeably.

  This was exactly the tour we were seeking. As a group of old college friends traveling to Guatemala we wanted to experience as much variety as possible. Nelson, our guide did a wonderful job exposing us to several different aspects of his country. The vineyards and chalet of the winery are definitely worth seeing. The Mayan village and Antigua are a must. Nelson did an expert job explaining and covering cultural facts and distinctions. The rum distillery was good, I've been to so many distilleries I just am a little over the tours, but the tour and tasting was good by comparisons to others. Throughout the entire tour Nelson was great at answering questions and pointing our high lights of the country. He also was great at getting us back to our destination on time. All and all I would contact him again if we are in the area as he is a fabulous guide.
