Cheese, wine and baguettes are the "holy trinity" in France. Start your tour with a visit to one of the most unique boulangeries in the world. Using an oven built in 1765 under King Louis XV, you'll sample a number of local and regional specialties while learning about traditional French bread-making. Afterwards, you'll do a deep dive into the immense world of French cheese. Did you know there are seasons for cheese? Or why brie tastes better in France? We'll discuss the impact of aging, different animal milks, when to eat the rind and offer our professional guidance on how to select cheese on your own. Coupled with an extensive wine pairing, you'll also gain a solid understanding of French wine as well as fundamentals for pairing cheese and wine together. With a minimum of 8 cheeses (and more for larger groups), this tour often doubles as lunch for most people.

One of the unique gems of the neighborhood, we will pass by a gothic revival church dedicated to one of the former kings of France, Saint-Louis.

5.00Alex was very entertaining. He did a good job engaging everyone and trying to meet the diverse needs of the group. One person was lactose intolerant & celiac, yet he was able to meet their needs! He is very knowledgeable and did a good job on the variety of cheezes, breads, sweets, and wines we tasted. There was plenty & we did not need to eat dinner after this.

5.00Our bread, cheese and wine tour was the highlight of our trip to Bordeaux. Our guides Diane and Vanessa enriched our knowledge of French food culture while sharing a fun morning. After visiting a number of different shops we culminated our tour in a wine shop where we paired the bread and cheese with a number of excellent wines. The tour was very personal and educational, I highly recommend this tour.

5.00I had the best time on this tour! We got to start at a bakery with an oven from the 1700s that we got to see close-up before taking a deep dive into the most enlightening and delicious cheese tasting I’ve ever done! The wines were expertly paired and Diane, our guide, created a wonderful vibe in the room that brought everyone on the tour together. I can’t recommend this tour enough!
