In the heart of Bordeaux’s old town centre, this wine tasting workshop will teach you not only the fundamentals of wine, but also the history of the vineyards, their unique characteristics, and main grape varieties. Throughout this masterclass workshop, you will also learn the correct and sophisticated approach to tasting, how to serve wine to your guests and how to pair Bordeaux wine with food.

What To Expect
Want to upgrade your wine tasting knowledge? With this wine masterclass, you’ll learn everything there is to know about Bordeaux and more. In the heart of Bordeaux’s old town center, this wine tasting workshop will teach you not only the fundamentals of wine, but also the history of the vineyards, their unique characteristics, and main grape varieties. Throughout this masterclass workshop, you will also learn the correct and sophisticated approach to tasting, how to serve wine to your guests and how to pair Bordeaux wine with food. The masterclass will be taught by a local wine professional with sommelier and/or vineyard experience. After an introduction to the vineyards of Bordeaux, you will taste four different wines from various appellations, each with their own distinguished style and character. You will learn the specificities of each region in terms of soil, climate and grape varieties and learn how to recognize their unique taste. The wines will be paired with delicious chocolates and some local cheeses!

5.00I had the most amazing experience at Bordeaux wine trails for my wine pairing class! I took a class with Margot and she was very patient and kind and she went to the extent of helping me carry my luggage to the nearest Uber train station as I attended the class alone. I was treated with so much kindness and love and I would highly recommend border wine trails to anyone who’s looking for a fabulous wine pairing class.

5.00We had a very intimate experience with just one other person. Jon was very knowledgeable and super friendly. The whole experience was really enjoyable and I learnt a lot. Would definitely recommend. We were also given recommendations for restaurants to try for the rest of our trip

5.00I had a fantastic time on the Wine Bar Crawl with Bordeaux Wine Trails, led by John. It was the perfect mix of fun and learning - not just about the Wine but also about the city of Bordeaux. We visited several charming wine bars, each with its own unique vibe and welcoming hosts. John was an exceptional guide. He walked us through the basic of wine tasting in a way that was approachable and enjoyable, emphasizing that Wine should be savoured in the moment rather than overthinking it. The wines were paired with delicious local snacks- cheeses, charcuterie, speads, etc. All top-notch! My highlight of this tour, was trying natural wines, which was a first for me. I was pleasently surprised by their character and depth. Whether you're new to wine or a seasoned sipper, i highly recommend joining one of John's tours. Great vibes, excellent wines and new things to learn along the way!

5.00Entering the wine cellar was a cool intro and then the wines and pairings came. A large map shows the sub-regions of Bordeaux which were explained. As a novice wine drinker I appreciated the skills taught to identify the wines as well as Cheese and chocolate pairings (some worked/didn't work for different people in my group's palates). The experienced wine enthusiasts in my group learned alot too! I would recommend this workshop.

5.00Super nice experience! The somelier was very authentic and we really enjoyed the atmosphere, we learned how to choose different types of wines. We had 4 types of wine to try and he explained to us how to combine it with cheese and food. Beside the wine, they had cheese from diffrent parts of the country and the red wine with dark chocolate.
