Start your tour with a visit to the Goðafoss waterfall, one of Iceland's most famous waterfalls. Learn about the legend of the waterfall and it's role in Icelandic history.
Visit the magical Christmas House and garden coming straight from a book of fairy tales. Upon entering the Christmas House enjoy the magic of the festive season. Find the Icelandic Yule lad´s troll mother (Gryla) hidden in her cave.
The Forest Lagoon, located just outside of Akureyri, with an amazing view. The Geothermal pool opened in the summer of 2022. It includes a bistro, two infinity pools, swim-up bars, a cold tub and sauna. The pools contain natural geothermal water coming from inside the mountain behind the lagoon itself. The water is rich in good minerals that have healing powers.

What To Expect
Godafoss
We drive from Akureyri through the wonderful winter wonderland for 35 minutes to Godafoss the magnificent waterfall in it's winter clothing where we hike around the waterfalls for 40 minutes.
From Godafoss we drive back to Eyjafjordur where we drive in the fjord for 45 minutes before arriving at the Christmas house. Winter set's the stage for a magical visit to the Christmas House where we stay for 30 minutes.

5.00My wife and I had a fantastic experience on this day trip. Our guide was very friendly and her knowledge of Akureyri and its history made it all the more enjoyable. We particularly loved the waterfalls as they were simply breathtaking. The Christmas house was very fun and it was nice to learn a bit about Icelandic customs for Christmas. The Forest Lagoon was also a wonderful experience to relax in the warm waters with the cold surroundings. I would absolutely recommend a tour with The Traveling Viking!

5.00The tour was varied, well paced and interesting. Excellent guide for the day, who shared many great stories. Unlike other trips this was about 5 hours and did not involve too much driving. Ending the day with a visit to the Forest Spa was an ideal wind down.

5.00We had a great trip, the waterfall was wonderful, our guide & driver, was really knowledgeable and told us so much about Iceland and the history, we also stopped at a couple of other spots for photos. We also really enjoyed the lagoon. We also obviously picked a great day, as we were the only 2 people on the tour, the lagoon was pretty empty, and we managed to capture a rainbow in the water at Gosafoss. Would recommend this tour.

5.00Our tour guide Joanna was lovely and very knowledgeable. We spent plenty of time at each place and never felt rushed. I think the tour is really good value for money as the lagoon entry is also included. The group size was also pretty small which was nice. The pick up from my hostel was super convenient and free of charge!

5.00We had a wonderful experience on the tour with our guide Graham. Graham was very knowledgeable about all the sites we visited and about Icelandic life in general. We really enjoyed the stunning views of the Godafoss and seeing the lovely Christmas house. The Forest Lagoon was fabulous and relaxing. A great experience and we would definitely recommend.
