We started this dark tour a bit uncertain but Martyna soon put us at ease. Respect for this woman.

I attended the event “Sensory Path – Toward Darkness,” guided by Konrad Sokół. It was an amazing experience, though also a bit painful for me personally. I’m fully able-bodied, and after entering the “maze”/path, I felt a sense of guilt that I am able-bodied while others are not. It’s worth taking part in this event to shift your perspective on the world—even if only for a moment—by switching off one sense that could be considered the main one: sight. The world changes dramatically then, but if you stay attentive and follow the guide’s instructions (in my case, Konrad Sokół’s), your other senses become sharper. It’s a very interesting initiative that shows that even if someone differs from an undefined “norm,” everyone is fully capable in their own way. I hope my review doesn’t offend anyone—that was not my intention.

Really amazing experience. Now only do you learn about the experience of a person without sight but you also learn about yourself. Shout out to Martyna for being so welcoming and open.

Really good experience. Martyna told us all we wanna know about life with disability. It can be shocking, doing normal things withoout your ability to see. Thank you very much :)

The member of staff on reception was very helpful and able to answer my questions as she spoke very good English. I booked myself on the English tour of both experiences. Paweł was my guide in the, ‘Into The Darkness’ experience. He was patient, helpful and good humoured and did an excellent job of involving me in the immersive experience of life without sight. So interesting noting in these activities, how other senses begin to make up for sight-loss. Damian was my guide in the, ‘Into The Light’ experience. He was very knowledgeable and good humoured. He willingly helped me by taking some video footage of me doing some of the activities. He explained the science and history behind the activities in a clear way. I definitely recommend visiting WOMAI when you visit Krakow.

The Womai “Dark Experience” in Krakow was truly impactful. Our guide Martyna was excellent and explained everything in a clear and engaging way. It gave us a much deeper understanding of what daily life is like for a blind person. A unique and meaningful experience.
