This is not another walking tour but a small group tour travel by private tuktuk and offer unlimited food and drinks while you and your English-speaking guide are whisked around Xi’an off the beaten path. You will visit one of China’s oldest and largest markets, eat where the locals eat at small, family-run businesses and try the best local food at places you can’t find on your own...plus a lot more surprises!

Xi'an City Wall (Chengqiang)
Meet your experienced English-speaking local guide near Xi’an City Wall, travel off the beaten path in your own tuk-tuk, venturing into hidden streets and quaint alleyways within Xian’s city walls to find popular eateries. You will visit 4-5 sit-down eateries and street stalls, sit down next to locals as you sample a variety of dishes, plus a walk through a local market.
Muslim Quarter
See how Xian wakes up in the Muslim Quarter by tuktuk, taste what’s so special about breakfast in Xian by visiting family-owned restaurants and street stalls that are only open in the morning…they sell out before lunch. Start by visiting our favorite breakfast shop that only sells one thing, and watch your food prepared fresh to order. Walk through one of China’s oldest and largest markets to see what’s in season plus a surprising selection of pets, local art, and unique hand-made gifts. On your way to the market, stop by one of the area’s most popular street stalls for a sweet treat. We’ll keep the biggest surprise a secret until you see it for yourself!

5.00Tour Guide: Buren. We had heard Buren's name brought up by multiple of our previous tour guides as one of the best tour guides with Lost Plate and we see why. He was very kind and attentive, answering all sorts of questions, providing recommendations, and pointing things out all around the Muslim Quarter. The food was all very delicious and hands-down some our favorite food that we tried while in China. The combination of the delicious food and Buren's excellent care made this an absolutely fantastic tour!

5.00Morning food tour led by Buren was fantastic. An excellent communicator with local knowledge of food and history. Sampled tasty dishes with unique flavors and textures, all prepared on the spot. A walk through the bustling market was also a major highlight.
A chance to sample local food in, the market, restaurants and shops off the main tourist routes.

5.00Would highly recommend this food tour to anyone interested exploring Xian cuisine! My partner and I had an amazing time with Buren our guide who took us around the Muslim quarter and introduced us to snacks and dishes mostly locals would know. We left with my bellies feeling full and excitement to try more Xi’an dishes.

5.00We loved this food tour and did both this one and the evening one in Xi'an. I definitely preferred the morning food tour for the different food options and quality, and particularly the guide Jane who was super friendly and helpful and so enthusiastic. It's a great introduction to Xi'an.
