We'll walk on the Causway of the Quarry, so called because it is a Mayan road built next to a quarry, from that quarry came a large part of the material used to build the buildings of the city. We'll also visit the North Acropolis, it's the center of this city, it is a plaza with a triadic pattern, a particular style of the oldest Mayan cities, it's a group of three temples forming a triangle, one temple to the East, another to the West, they represent the twin brothers who, according to Mayan mythology, were the creators of humanity. To the North is the temple representing the god of corn, the father of the twins.

The experience was very good, the coordination and logistics were punctual and before the trip I had contact with intermediary operators. The day of the tour was quiet and the archaeological explanation very good, traveled with young children and had patience so that they could also explore and go at their pace.

We did the tour at the end of 2019 (not 2024-it wouldn't let me select earlier) with Marlon Diaz as our guide. Great tour of a wonderful archaeological site! The temples are stunning and there are multiple very large impressive temples. Watching the sunrise at the top of one of the temples was an amazing experience. We saw and heard howler monkeys! Marlon was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. He showed us some archeological sites that were being worked on as well, which were interesting to see. This is one my favorite tours I've done anywhere in the world. It compares with the Pyramids of Giza and Chichen Itza in Mexico. In fact with the jungle setting and the number of temples, it is possibly better. It was a very full and wonderful day, that we will never forget! Highly recommended.

Great experience with Marlon as an expert guide. We did Yaxha and Tikal with Marlon. He possesses a fine combination of knowledge of Maya culture, Anthropology, Archaeology and Biology. And, importantly, knows how to convey that well in perfect English. A guide with his hard in the right place: conveying the love for his country.

My wife and I had a great time touring Yaxha (and Tikal) with Marlon. He's friendly, professional, incredibly knowledgeable, and also gave us some time to explore on our own. I've done a lot of tours, and you couldn't ask for a better tour guide than Marlon.

This tour deserves 5+ stars. On the logistics: The tour is well organized from beginning to end--picked up on time, comfortable transportation, sufficient stops, and since we had a night plane to catch Marlon kindly offered to show us Flores and the surrounding areas which just added to the experience. The best part was Yaxha itself, the archaeologica site (not the lake). It is in the middle of the forest so you get to experience the culture, with birds, monkeys, and even a tarantula... It is gorgeous. The equally fantastic part and what brings it all together for us: Marlon's knowledge, charisma, and kindness. This man knows his staff, he is a Professional guide with a capital P. Makes the experience remarkable, memorable. We were lucky to have him as our tour guide and hope to have a chance to visit Guatemala again and explore other regions, in which case we will certainly call him up. Highly recommended.

My private tour to Yaxha with Marlon was by far one of my favorite parts of my trip to Guatemala. He is highly knowledgeable about a range of topics from botany and wildlife to history and politics in both Spanish and English. He is very responsive and professional and it was easy to schedule my tour. He was a pleasure to spend the day with. The lunch was excellent and we had plenty of time to explore Yaxha, which is a magical place especially at sunset. He even took photos and sent them to me to remember my tour. Don’t hesitate to book with Marlon and Gem Tours - you won’t be disappointed!

Billy was an extremely friendly and knowledgeable guide, answering all our questions about the history of Tikal, Mayan culture and the wildlife within the park in extreme detail, while also telling us fascinating personal stories and experiences. The day was everything that we had hoped for and much more, being able to learn so much about Guatemalan history, seeing all the animals we wanted to (monkeys, parrots, crocodiles, while still avoiding snakes!), and topping it off with a beautiful sunset. Thank you so much Billy, we could not recommend this highly enough!

Great experience, the team took care of everything and we enjoyed all of it. There was enough time to enjoy the Tikal area and reach the top of one of the temples to admire the sunset. Highly recommended experience!
