Here you will get in touch with the great history of Armenia through the magnificent architectural ensembles that surrounds the square. After freshening up with natural spring water coming up right from the ground, you will head to one of the oldest parts of the city.

Walk by the Moscow Cinema towards the Opera and Ballet Theater. Not far is Freedom Square, also known as Opera or Theatre Square. This square is one of the most popular places for local young people to relax, skate, or bike. In Freedom Square is also Swan Lake. The lake's history is closely connected to the Opera Theatre and serves as another spot for relaxing or meeting locals. Continue on your walking tour to French Square and the park of the Yerevan State Conservatory where you will reach the Cascade Complex

Cascade Complex

The Cascade Complex in Yerevan is a monumental staircase and cultural center connecting downtown Yerevan with the Monument neighborhood. The Armenian National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after Alexander Spendiaryan

The Opera and Ballet Theatre is about a 10-minute walk from the Moscow Cinema. It is one of the absolute masterpieces of world architecture that the city of Yerevan hosts and undoubtedly one of the landmarks of Armenia. Freedom Square (also known as Theatre Square) in front of the building is one of the most popular leisure spots for local youth, who often come here to bike or skate. The Swan Lake near the Opera House, closely connected to the theatre’s history, is another perfect place for a walk and for meeting locals. Concerts are often held here in the evenings.
