Why wife and I went 10/31/25 and our guide was Leidse - he was the perfect guide. Extremely professional, knowledge, and attentive and constantly went out of his way to make us feel like VIPs. There were about 7 of us so we filled the Mercedes van, but it was never rushed or cramped. There were 3 different groups of us, and each of us was picked and dropped off at own hotel which is big plus, especially if it is cold or raining, or at the end of the tour after a long day. Every time we asked our guide to take a photo or something random, he never hesitated (and like a great guide, Leidse went out of his way to suggest and push us for the best photo spots and poses which is pretty important for these tours to lock in the memories and have both of us in the photos rather than one always taking them). He also had multiple surprises for us which was nice. Three stops: 1. Lego village - I guess I’m glad we went to get the picture but totally skippable. When you see the pictures online, you are really seeing everything this stop has to offer. But we really only stayed for 15 minutes to stretch our legs, snap a few photos, and then move on. 2. Zaanse Schans - you are going to Amsterdam. Is doing a windmill tour with Gouda cheese and wooden clog tours touristy and hokey? Of course. Is it something you still have to and want to do? Absolutely. This stop was better than I thought it would be (less fake and touristy) and the pictures with the windmills are really fantastic. We were there for a few hours which was the perfect amount of time to do the cheese and clogs stop and then have an hour to walk around and explore. Not sure if I would ever go back unless I was with others that have never been, but if I went I would be happy about it. 3. Geithoorn - what a wonderful village. No cars so you are just exploring this quaint village by boat or walking across bridges. We started by having a great lunch on our own (not included with the tour price) and then renting a small private boat just for our tour group which was included with the tour price. Leidse (our guide) was just as knowledgeable about the houses and history of Geithoorn without ever making it boring and then we had an hour to explore the same area on foot which is worth it for a different perspective. After that we headed back into main Amsterdam. Ok, way too long of a review which probably nobody will read but I know that with so many tours out there that all look the same, hope this helps. Have a fantastic trip!

This was a great tour! Erik was such a good guide. Our train was late getting into Amsterdam so we missed the tour departure and Erik came and picked us up. He even loaded all of our luggage in his van so we didn’t have to waste time storing it somewhere. Erik was very knowledgeable about all of the locations he took us to. The cities and sites were absolutely stunning! Then at the end of our tour, he dropped us off at our hotel. Highly recommend!

Our tour guide Leidse was amazing! Super informative and not only talked about the places we visited but also shared lots of cool facts about Amsterdam’s culture. He made sure we were comfortable, managed our time really well, and was very attentive to what we needed.

Day tour to Zaandam, Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn with Reinier as our tour guide. He gave us good suggestions like not using umbrella and not getting small boat in Giethoorn due to the strong wind. Zaandam was a photo stop. In Zaanse Schans, after cheese tasting and clog workshop, we had time to see a windmill up close (pay €7.5pp). In Giethoorn, we had a yummy lunch in the Grand Cafe. After boat ride, still had free time to explore the village.

We had the pleasure of having Leidse as our guide, and he truly made the trip unforgettable. His humour, boundless energy, and deep knowledge of local culture and history kept us engaged and entertained throughout. He managed to keep the group on time without ever being pushy, and was always ready with thoughtful recommendations to help us make the most of our stay. It was the small gestures that stood out — like offering to carry our purchases in his own bag, never once asking for tips, and being able to hold meaningful conversations across such a wide range of topics. These moments reflect not only his professionalism but also the genuine kindness with which he carries himself. We’ve taken many private and small group tours over the years, but Leidse is without question one of the very best. Highly recommended!
