The process of traditional “ZEN” training involves sitting in the correct posture on the floor, being aware of the breath, and stabilizing the mind.
But it seems difficult, especially for westerners, to just sit in the correct posture (even for modern Japanese too).
Restore the body by stretching muscles and breathing through breathing techniques.
By relaxing body tension and deepening your breathing, your voice will begin to resonate. Experience how your heart and body become more harmonious when your voice resonates comfortably.
ZEN Kitchen
Japanese food is known as delicious and healthy around the world.
However, many people think it's too expensive to eat at a restaurant and too difficult to cook at home by yourself.
TOKKO (the guide) teaches you how to cook Japanese food in a very simple way with local ingredients. You will enjoy cooking with TOKKO’s fun instructions, and you can take the recipe home. So you will be able to easily cook Japanese food at home too!

Our "ZEN" style workshop offers you the opportunity to "be you" and "be present" by a program that combines Zen Voice and Zen Kitchen. Introduction:15 minutes An explanation of “ZEN” and the structure of the “ZEN” voice meditation. Stretch and breathe: 20 minutes. By using stretching and breathing techniques, you will feel your body restored and deepen your breathing. Voice work and meditation: 25 minutes By relaxing your body tension and deepening your breathing, your voice will begin to resonate. Experience how your heart and body become more harmonious when your voice resonates comfortably. Also, you will enjoy the pleasant feeling of hearing your voice harmonize with the voices of other participants. Rest: 5 minutes. Introduction:5 minutes Explanation of “ZEN” kitchen concepts. Cooking:70 minutes You will enjoy cooking 3–4 kinds of seasonal Japanese traditional food in a very simple way. Tasting: 40 minutes Enjoy the delicious and healthy Japanese food cooked by yourself!! We were given this experience as a wedding gift, and we loved it! The couple that hosted us was very welcoming and nice, the place is in the nature. We really liked both the zen voice explanation, stretching and meditation, as well as the cooking part, and of course the eating! Food was delicious and very Okinawa typical, we will definitely try to cook it at home! Also, it was so much that we were given some to take home. Overall, we extremely recommend this experience to anyone who will go to Okinawa!

We absolutely loved this experience - both the zen teaching and the cooking class were amazing. We got to enjoy a meal that we'd never have elsewhere at a restaurant or a resort. This was true home cooking with an Okinawan twist. Our instructors were a delightful couple from Tokyo - we will definitely do this again!

This workshop integrates the spirit of "ZEN" into both voice training and a cooking class. "ZEN" has multiple meanings in Japanese, including "zazen" (a form of Buddhist seated meditation), "being natural," and "doing good." Each session—voice training and cooking—beautifully embraced these principles, making this workshop truly unique. Voice Training The voice training session focused on regulating breathing techniques to achieve natural vocal expression. Stretching and zazen meditation were incorporated as approaches to improving breathing, which I found fascinating. The trainer had a warm personality, creating a relaxed atmosphere that made the session even more enjoyable. Held in a peaceful Okinawan home, this oriental experience added a special touch to my trip. After practicing natural breathing and meditating through zazen, my voice felt much clearer. More than that, my body felt refreshed and well-balanced. Whether or not you have concerns about your voice, I highly recommend this session to everyone. Cooking Class The cooking class embodied the ideas of "being natural" and "doing good." Using local ingredients, we learned about the importance of eating healthily and how food connects to well-being. Through cooking, I was able to experience the local culture firsthand. Okinawan cuisine turned out to be incredibly healthy, leaving me feeling rejuvenated. I even received recipes from the instructor, which I plan to adapt using ingredients from my home country. Final Thoughts This workshop was a meaningful cultural exchange that deepened my understanding of Japanese and Okinawan traditions. It was an unforgettable experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for something unique and enriching!

This time, the Zen Program was just wonderful. We had a unique experience where we stretched and gently relaxed the body and then created a resonance of sound. After we stretched our bodies well, we were able to focus much deeper during zazen. In the culinary program, we cooked Okinawa dishes using local ingredients. The master, who also supports the professional football team, taught us carefully and deftly. At the end of the programme, we all enjoyed meals we had prepared ourselves together. It was a wonderful time.

The sky was full of stars and shooting stars 💫, the clear ocean with beautiful coral reefs and fish, the early morning voitre sitting on the lawn, the BBQ with some local grannies we seemed to have known for a long time, the cooking class full of local ingredients. All of this was a pleasant time to go back to our human roots. I want to go again ^ ^

It is attractive in a calm environment that is not so touristic. You can also play actively in the sea, take a walk, watch the sunset, and spend a rich time in nature. The classrooms were spacious and clean, with a good view of the garden, and I felt comfortable. The voice meditation here rests the auditory apparatus, which is tired in the hustle and bustle of the day, so that its true sound is naturally brought out. Cooking together using local ingredients is a simple recipe, but it is a stylish product that allows you to taste both tradition and creativity ♬ With the added satisfaction of making it ourselves, it was delicious.

The couple welcomed us with warm smiles and we were able to participate with peace of mind. In Voice Meditation, the feeling of your voice reverberating through your body is very comfortable! As I speak out, I can naturally concentrate on what is inside me and my feelings are quiet. My body relaxed and I was away from everyday life all at once. All dishes made with Okinawan ingredients are simple. It was a fun time to make our own food, and friends who don't usually cook were very active. Of course, the taste was exceptional! The classroom is very comfortable and there is a beautiful beach nearby, so I want to stay here forever! It was enough to think. I'd love to go again!
