• Amazing Female Solo Travel Experience with a Group Tour

  From the initial contact over email to the process of customizing my trip, I realized that Silk Road Travel is an exclusive service for English speakers looking for premium travel agents and a wonderful trip in a fairly unknown part of China. Jane has been extremely helpful every step of the way, answering all my queries without bias and also assisting me in organizing my itinerary to incorporate the places I wanted to visit. The true heroes were Mr Shen (the driver for Dunhuang) and Meiling (over tour assistant) who went the extra mile to assist me during the trip itself to ensure that I was able to visit the places I wanted to go despite certain hiccups. Overall, every single staff member of Silk Road Travel (tour guides and drivers) performed beyond expectations before and during the trip; making it an extremely memorable experience for me even as a solo female traveler.

  Steven was my guide for the last half of the trip. He is extremely knowledgeable and personal. It's the way he tells the story of history and culture. He compels you to consider what it must have been like to do live in those times. Steven was always offering trip details the day before. If you had any questions about anything he would give you the best answer he could. I don't speak Chinese or Uighur, but he did. He and I I traveled on trains to different locations. He knew when to allow me to "stretch my legs" and when to keep me close. Good guy. On this trip it was just the two of us. So we had a lot of time to just talk. It's a great way to travel, especially when you have a guide like Steven. Thanks Steven.

  A Truly Personalized and Unforgettable Experience! I can't say enough good things about my recent trip with Silk Road Travel Tour Agency. From the very beginning, Chandler was incredibly helpful in customizing a trip that perfectly fit my interests and schedule.   It was an amazing trip. The experience of the history, people culture , food and the sceneries, places of worship etc all has been well explained by Mei Lin. The entire travel planning was absolutely marvellous. The guided tour has taken all our safety into deep consideration including the journey on bus train and boat rides. And definitely it is money worth spent . A big thank you to the tour company and all the people behind to make this trip enjoyable yet a lesson never thought in life about the history of china on this great ancient Silk Road

  

  

  

• Great time in Gansu!!!

  I lived in Shanghai for over 15 years and I always wanted to visit Gansu province. Finally last February 2025 I went there thanks to Silk Road Travel. Lesley (owner of Silk Road Travel), together with Leah and other people on site helped me to have an excellent time during my trip and to make the most of the 7 days journey. They were all very kind and the drivers were excellent drivers. I always imagined that Gansu was beautiful, but this trip totally surpassed my expectations: the mix of beautiful landscapes, culture and history is truly unique! Huhe thanks to the Silk Road Travel team for that amazing week and all the organizing involved! I cannot wait to take another trip with you! :) P.S.   My trip at the silk road (Lanzhou, Zhangye, jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumqi, Xining) was so amazing. We booked the tour with the Silk road travel. Every place we visited are so amazing. And Ms Lesley really help us to solve the problem when we had trouble as our train suspended due the sand storm. Thank you so much to the team of silk road travel.   Thanks team, for the wonderful experience and the accompanying personnel. Special thanks to Nur, he was an excellent guide, filled with knowledge, very smart and understands foreign standards well, paid attention to the details, we did not have a single problem despite countless check points and many stops. Will and I are extremely satisfied with his service and care throughout the trip.
