1,280年の歴史を持つ九州西国遍路の一部を巡るウォーキングツアー。 標高差200mの5kmのルートは、徒歩で約3時間かかる。
ツアーでは、仏教や日本の生活についてより深く知ることができます。
仏教の面では、石仏に祈祷し、中国から朝鮮、やがて日本へと伝わった宗教の特徴を知ることができます。
また、ルートの由来や270体の石仏の意義についても知ることができます。
日本の暮らしといえば、巡礼路を取り巻く海や山の恵み。 対岸の海は壮観な光景であるだけでなく、豊富な資源を育み、周辺の山々に生息する植物やサルについて学ぶ機会も多い。

5.00We visited Beppu on a cruise ship and wanted to experience the unseen parts of Japan, away from all the tourists. The Buddha statue Pilgrimage Route ticked those boxes plus more. This has by far been our favourite tour in Japan. Our local tour guide, Isa was exceptional and we warmed to her instantly. She was very easy to understand and took us to so many abandoned temples in the mountains. The temples are in the mountains, which was an easy walk through some back streets from the pick up location. We also saw monkeys that had come down from higher in the mountains. Overall a great day, not to be missed.
Mountain trekking through bamboo forest and history

5.00I really wanted to do some mountain trekking while in Beppu and this tour didn't disappoint. Some beautiful views, forests and all the Buddha statues really made you think who made them and how long ago. the little temple at the top was such a peaceful calming place made the hike well worth it
