My husband and I had an amazing three days exploring Maremures and meeting many wonderful people. We left from Cluj Napoca and drove north with Teo to see so many different sites and meet many different people in the three days. This included meeting local craftsmen (weavers, woodworkers, potters, etc), visiting several different beautiful Orthodox churches and seeing other notable points (including the Merry cemetery and communist memorial museum). We were especislly moved by the communist museum, which was a powerful place to understand an important part of Romanian history. We were really amazed by the kindness and openness of the people of Maremures. From the family who run the self-sustained farm inn (who fed us so much delicious food) to meeting the very friendly local craftspeople, everyone was extremely welcoming. Notably, we were visiting during St. Nicholas Day and we were able to observe part of a traditional church mass. The church people were so kind to feed and include us in the celebration. Of course, none of this would have been possible without our tour guide Teo. He is extremely knowledgeable about the region, its history, and the customs of the people. He is very passionate about documenting the lifestyle of the region and was able to connect us to many different people during the trip. Never have I had such a personal experience on a tour or trip before as this one. Teo was a real pleasure to spend the three days with and has a great sense of humor. Overall, the tours Teo provides are really a once in a lifetime opportunity to connect with the people and traditions of a very special place in the world that holds strongly to traditional values and lifestyle.

I had a wonderful three-day tour of Maramureş, Romania. It was perhaps the best travel experience of my life. Teo provided tremendous insight into the beautiful and culturally rich region. I saw places and things that I would never have discovered on my own. My accommodation at the self-sufficient farm was incredible. It was warm, hospitable, and offered great value for money. The food was delicious, and the cultural experience was truly enriching. I was fortunate enough to visit during moonshine season and enjoyed their palinka. Thank you again, Teo. Paul from Canada. As a travel professional of 32 years in the US I have been blessed to travel to six of the seven continents and I would rank this tour in my top three favorite destinations . Our local professional guide, Teo was absolutely the best! What made this tour so spectacular was meeting the locals in their daily lives. This area is not a museum but real people living real lives. Without Teo’s insight as a native the experience would not have had the same impact. Due to his genuine concern for these people he has earned their respect and trust which by association was transferred to us. We were being welcomed into their homes and with his translating skills we conversed almost like a direct conversation. I have never experienced such warmth and hospitality as in Maramureş! If you are looking for a tour of traditional village life that has disappeared in the rest of the Western World I would strongly encourage you to visit. You will be left with memories that will remain with you for a lifetime!

Teo was simply the best guide I have ever experienced. His knowledge of the area was incredible and we were able to see places and people we would never have come across as a regular tourist. Within all his knowledge his humour shone through, which made the experience even more fun. Thank you so much Teo
