• Fantastic Urumqi and Turpan tour

  Victor was our tour guide for our 35 ppl tour group. His vast local and cultural knowledge had made a great impression for our 1st time trip around this region. His ability to articulate the story behind the historical site helped us to appreciate the cultural diversity for the region. No questions were too trivial to answer. His calm and patience truly made the trip pleasant. Highly recommend Victor as the fantastic tour guide for this region.

  Our time in Xinjiang was definitely one for the books. Chandler was great to work with- quick to respond, easy to communicate with, and very helpful even when we had unexpected last-minute changes. A special thank you to our driver, Dongye who took us to Tianshan and Nanshan. He was kind, patient, and genuinely went above and beyond throughout the trip. His warmth, guidance, and care made us feel very comfortable as foreigners visiting Xinjiang. Thank you to the team at Silk Road Travel for such a smooth and memorable experience. If we ever return to Xinjiang and need tour or driving services again, we would definitely choose them again.

• Wonderful Urumqi and Turpan tour

  We “accidentally “ came to Urumqi because of the conflict between USA and Iran so having to cancel our Emirates flight we then rerouted with Cathay and China Southern to get to Turkmenistan. This meant a stopover at Urumqi but I am so glad we did as Urumqi and the tour with Silk Road travel exceeded my expectations. The operator was not only very prompt at responding to our queries but kindly arranged airport shuttles outside the dates of the tour to fit in with our flights. Benjamin our guide was excellent- great command of the English language but also very humorous and informative. He also kindly accommodated my need for short drives as I have sciatica of recent onset and so I avoid sitting for long periods of time. It was also great to modify the trip so that we could spend more time at Heavenly Lake for a longer hike. Mā, the driver was cheerful and thoughtful as well. Tom, my husband and I felt really well looked after by all the people of Silk Road travel. I would definitely recommend this outfit to our friends and family because they are so reliable and so easy to deal with. My best wishes to the wonderful people at Silk Road travels for continued future success.

  The tour was amazing and provided us the opportunity to see many beautiful places in Xinjiang. Omar was very informative and insightful. He spoke perfect English and was very helpful. The driver was also patient and efficient. I would highly recommend this tour.

  This is the first leg of our long planned Southern Xinjiang escapade. We were to do a day trip to Turpan first and then travel to the Heavenly Lake on our second day. Due to bad weather forecast, Silk Road Travel was able to promptly change our itinerary to avoid the snow storm in Urumqi, enable us to visit the Heavenly Lake before it was closed to visitors due to the storm and avoided the canceled flights with alternative flight from Turpan to our destination. Victor, our guide, was very knowledgeable, professional and very helpful, even acting up as luggage porter to assist us to make our connections. Strong recommendations!

  Xinjiang offers very diverse scenery. From dry and brown Turpan to beautiful mountains with trees, snow and a beautiful lake! Not to forget a wonderful guide, Hassan.
