Discovering iconic places in China under the sun. Mike, our guide throughout this journey, was very professional and had a perfect command of his subject.

TCG planned our 3 day private Huangshan tour. We were met at the train station by our guide, April and driver, Mr Huang. We visited Hongcun Village and the Tunxi Old Street. The highlight of the trip was the cable car ride to the mountain followed by a strenuous hike to Xihai on the second day. We enjoyed the spectacular views of Mt Huangshan along the way. April was an outstanding guide. She was friendly, caring and very knowledgeable. She shared many interesting stories and helped us to appreciate the history and culture of the area. We were disappointed that we did not see sunrise on the third day as it was raining. Thank you, April and Mr Huang, for this memorable experience in Mt Huangshan.

We were really glad to have had our 3 day trip to Hangzhou and Huangshan planned by TravelChinaGuide - they suggested places that we may not have visited otherwise - like HongCun. Having a driver saved us time and energy, and a guide is imperative to fully appreciate the history and culture of the village. Going through TCG also saved us lots of logistics not having to book everything ourselves,or having to figure out where to eat as well. Both guides provided were fantastic - friendly and a wealth of information. Sunny (our guide in Huangshan) gave lots of practical suggestions and was a huge encouragement on the long climb on day two.

It was an amazing experience. The sunset on the mountain was priceless. Our guide, Toni, made everything possible to make our trip as smooth as possible. If you travel to China, yellow mountain should be at the top of your list

Huangshan was part of a 22-day private tour of China, all arranged by Travel China Guide. Sally Si was our consultant and patiently worked with us to build an itinerary designed just for us. Tony was our guide in Shanghai, and we had made contact with him through the app WeChat prior to our arrival. We traveled from Shanghai to Huangshan by bullet train, which is an experience in itself. Amazing engineering, and an extremely reliable and comfortable (and fast!) way to travel. Tony met us at the train station. On the way to the city he told us about the history of the area. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his city. We checked into our hotel, and Tony dropped us at the Tunxi Old Street which is an historic place and now a market area. We walked back along the waterfront to our hotel, which was very enjoyable as it was evening and the place was lit up colourfully. The area was very clean and tidy, and we felt perfectly safe. The people are friendly. The follow two days was spent up Mt Huangshan, with Tony guiding us the entire time. Tony had very good knowledge of the areas to take us, and had plenty of stories to tell. We are a fit couple, and nearly wore him out with our walking! But he was great. My Huangshan is truely spectacular. Amazing. We come from New Zealand, have toured various countries including USA but this was right up there in the top places we have visited. It’s a must see and a real ‘wow’. We stayed overnight on the mountain. The hotel was nice, although we weren’t overly happy with the accomodation, with people smoking in the corridors despite the rules. But it didn’t dampen our enthusiasm for the place. After exiting the mountain we stayed at the Pigs Inn at Bishan Village. This was a very old and quant place, and we loved it. We did a lot of biking, walking, and exploring. The people were very friendly, although on one occasion an old lady stepped out on to the street and gave us an obvious verbal growling - not sure what for. But we just smiled and waved and moved on. It didn’t worry us, we get it that perhaps not everyone is having a good day! The next day we visited Hongcun Village, a world heritage site. Tony lead us through the maze of streets taking us to various building and giving us the histories. Without a guide, this would be difficult, and you would not gain the context of the place. Overall we loved the city and the mountain. We highly recommend China as a place to visit, and you must go to Huangshan Mountain. A guide is truly worth it, and enhances the experience, and removes all worry from your day. They do all the planning, getting tickets, etc, and do everything to make your time the best time. Tony was fantastic and we highly recommend him and Travel China Guide. Tony’s Wechat ID is wxid_sds78xzvnsp22 and ph number +8618955904766 Any questions please ask.

I visited with my daughter on the 3 day private tour. Tony was our guide. He was personable, considerate and very knowledgeable. Hongchun village and Mt huangshan have very beautiful scenery and rich in culture and history which Tony described beautifully to us. We were able to see traditional Anhui architecture in detail and visit locations where scenes from the film 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' were filmed in Hongchun village. I expressed my interest in tea from the area and Tony especially brought us to a great tea shop where I was able to sample and purchase huangshan maofeng. We were also able to try Anhui specialty dish of chouguiyu and mao doufu- both were unique and delicious but may not be for everyone. The weather was already quite hot at the time of visiting (high 20s+ degrees in May). Overall the tour was great (I used Travel China Guide Your to arrange my trip which I highly recommend). I highly recommend Tony as a guide as he is knowledgeable, amiable and provides a relaxed atmosphere perfect for casual touring. I hope I can go back again as there is a lot more to see and learn. Thank you Tony!

Our trip to China overall was amazing .. every site a new experience but the 3 days at Huangshan mountain was an adventure! Our guide William was experienced and caring and sensitive to our needs and ability to challenge the trek .. his black tea was a lifesaver when I desperately needed a rest !.. we felt a real sense of achievement at the end and the views were spectacular.. highly recommended. HuangShan is one of the places you probably will revisit, it is my 2nd trip and I haven’t had enough of it! No words can describe this magnificent and majestic mountains, you got to come to see and to appreciate the beauty yourself! A three days two nights stay in HuangShan alone is a recommended. Pack light, a pair of good walking/hiking shoes and a stick may be helpful. There are a lot of steps up and down (well-constructed, kudos to the workers!) Walking is very demanding physically and I wouldn’t suggest to bring little kids on the tour. Tunxi Old Street, Hongcun Village definitely have their unique attractions, I wish we could have stay longer. Well, maybe there will be a 3rd visit. There are nine of us in this trip, a few of us had visited HuangShan before, however having a professional tour guide is the wise decision! Our tour guide is Yin Leung. Mr. Yin grew up in nearby township. He is an experience and knowledgeable tour guide. Showing HuangShan is like sharing his family story with you. Local expertise matters! If you don’t know what you had missed, then you haven’t’ missed anything. But if you are guided to see most of the attractions, then this trip is well worth it! Whether you are a nature lover or not, HuangShan is for you!

This tour was excellent. From the time I arrived on the train to the time I departed, I was in the hands of a pro, my tour guide Christina. Our first stop was Hongcun Village, a picturesque ancient town with a lot of local culture to learn about and experience. Christina helped me sample some of the local food, communicating to the locals about my food allergy. In the evening, I stayed near Tunxi Old Street which was a pleasant place to walk, shop, and have dinner. Days two and three were spent on Yellow Mountain. We had terrible weather! Fog covered the mountain the whole time. Bad luck. If I was rating the mountain it would get less stars ;). My guide kept things pleasant and cheerful, and took pictures for me. She was knowledgeable about the mountain and local culture so at least listening to her was interesting. When I decided to leave the mountain a little early, she was very accommodating and helpful with the trains. If you try it, good luck with the weather, and maybe plan a little flexibility in your schedule and check the weather reports!
