• Fantastic jeep safari

  This trip was really good value. Saw so much of the west of the island. Stopped mid morning at a lovely rustic, isolated bar where the lady owner was a delight and her homemade original poncha was the best I’ve ever tasted!!!! The lunchtime stop in Porto Moniz was great, beautiful scenic location. You either eat or swim as the 1.1/2 hour stop is not really enough to do both, but I wouldn’t want more time there as there was so much more of the island to see. Highlight for me was the falal forest. It’s a long day and the jeep makes it tiring but I think it’s well worth it.

  We did the full day west tour, it was wonderfull. Our guide was great, told a lot about the island and showed us everything. We had a few special request about the route and that was no problem. thank you guys!

  

  

  

• Nice Tour of the Highlights

  The tour took us to all the highlights to see for the West side of the island which was enjoyable. We did expect more dialogue from our guide though. Basically dropped us at each spot, gave us 20 minutes to look around and enjoy. The big minus for us was the vehicle. Perhaps this was our ignorance but did not realize that the seating in the very back were sideways benches with padding around the upper rails. Since we were last to be picked up we were relegated here. My partner has back issues such that to sit twisted and hunched over for the day would not work. Fortunately another guest agreed to switch or we would have had to leave the tour. Even so by the end of the tour my body was aching from sitting awkwardly for so long as was the other guest. We saw other Safari Madeira vehicles that had 8 guests crammed in. We were fortunate to only have 6. So just beware of this before you book!

  Myself and my friend with three others - who we did not know previously but now pleased to call friends went on the west tour with Ron the brilliant driver and guide. I can honestly say the best way to see Madeira is off road with these guys - stunning views fantastic places suited for all ages and mobility , with Ron who went the extra mile for us all ( literally ) 🤣. Fantastic day out and cannot recommend highly enough

  Great decision to go with Safari Maderia! They were on time and easy to find. Our guide, Gabriel, was friendly, a lifelong resident of Funchal, and an excellent driver. We felt that in our years of travel, this was one of the best tours that we had ever taken. The island itself is beautiful and very dramatic, with its very steep mountains surrounding it. We enjoyed the off-roading part of the trip, and everyone in the Jeep loved it. The age range of the full group was 30 to 70 years old. I highly recommend this tour!

  We had a great day out with Gabrielle our driver. He was knowledgeable friendly and told us a lot about Madeira. The trip goes around the island including off road sections through the forest. It was fantastic.

  John was excellent guide. So many stops and lovely little details that he pointed out gave the tour that touch extra. The planned stops were lovely and a great way to see a part of the island that we would not have gotten to see. So much pieces of history made it interesting. No rushed feeling at the stops either, plenty of time to get your photos in.

  We had an incredible day discovering the west of Madeira! The experience was super fun from start to finish, and the viewpoints are simply breathtaking. A huge thank you to our guide, Rodrigo, who was very friendly, attentive to us, and provided us with very interesting explanations.
