It was arranged I would meet my driver at 9am. He was early and when I met him he drove me 5 mins around the corner and parked up. Then he walked with me to the Golden Temple. Vaguely pointing out the memorial. He left me at the shoe deposit at the Golden Temple and told me to meet him at 2pm to go to the Border. My hotel was only 5 mins away from the temple so this was pointless. I had mistakenly thought I was getting a Guide. No, he was just a taxi driver. A good taxi driver but no more. The morning was a waste of both our time. I did my own research on the places to go in Amritsar. Did I read the TripAdvisor wrong, I don’t think so? A taxi and nothing else. The man spoke little English and didn’t offer any information at all.

Harpal Singh was our fabulous driver. We communicated well in English with some google translation. Very comfortable car. Harpal Singh made sure we had a great full day in Amritsar and ensured we had great seats at the Wagah border ceremony. A lovely man kind thoughtful and respectful. Such a good day trip.
