Colombo Lighthouse
現在の高さ29 m (95 ft) の灯台は、コロンボ港拡張計画の一環として、古いコロンボ灯台が近くの建物によって灯りが隠蔽され、無効になった後に1952年に建設された。 セイロンの初代首相Rt Hon D. 高さ12m（39フィート）のコンクリートの土台の上に建てられ、土台には4体のライオンの像がある。 インド洋を一望できることから、市のランドマークとなった。 スリランカ内戦の激化に伴い、一般の立ち入りが制限された。 これは、海軍本部の向かい側にあり、コロンボ港からも近いことから、警戒区域に配置されていることによる。

5.00This is a great tour! We had a great day, exploring the city with a wonderful guide. Saw a beautiful temples, the lotus tower,and much of this beautiful city. The tour included a nice rest stop at a beautiful tea shop and the tour guide, Rilwan was friendly and most helpful. He even helped arrange a dinner at the lotus Tower. I would highly recommend this tour!

5.00We had the BEST time on this tour! Rilwan was an outstanding driver, guide, and host in this amazing city. He picked up our group of six at the port gate, showed us the port museum, and took us to fantastic city attractions—including temples, the Lotus Tower, and other great photo spots. We even stopped for tea, which was included in the tour. Rilwan went above and beyond by helping us plan dinner at the Lotus Tower restaurant. I highly recommend this tour and can’t say enough about our guide and driver, Rilwan—he was informative, fun, and made this one of the most memorable shore excursions on our 2026 world cruise. Thank you, Rilwan!
