  This was an incredible food tour with cultural and historical pearls of information interwoven throughout. Highly recommended. The tour started late afternoon with a tour uncovering background of the history of Malaysian cuisine and local area including where to purchase food items so you can bring a taste home. Then there was a series of stops for tasting some smaller items (including some Michelin recommended sites) where we sampled food I would never have found on my own. Finally there was a sit down at dinner time for a full meal. Simon and Anderson were exceptionally enthusiastic and knowledgable. We left with full bellies, a better understanding of the cultural heritage of Penang and smiles on our faces.

  Simon was a fantastic guide. He is clearly proud of his city and knows it well. He is a great storyteller and wove tales of his ancestors into the tour to bring the places visited to life. He also introduced us to local foods and traditions. A truly wonderful day out!

  The foodie cultural tour with Su Li was an amazing cultural and gastronomic experience - a must do whilst in Penang! Su Li was very knowledgeable, accomodating and very attentive to our needs. Visiting with my 3 boys, we were educated through sight, smell, taste and of course some funny stories about the local area. Su Li's deep knowledge of the origins of the Penang settlement with her ability to tie it together with the vibrant food scene, made this experience an unforgettable one for my family. My favourite treats were the pickled nutmeg & Nyonya Kuihs. Although we can't forget the experience of trying our hand at cooking our own Char Koay Teow and Apom Balik. The tour took us through the back streets and market lanes, walking through some historical architecture and seeing the changes of these through time. The smells of the curries and spices through the back lanes of the Nasi Kandar kitchen woke up our sense of smell and enticed our apatite. Su Li's passionate enthusiasm of the UNESCO historical sites, organised and safe tour is a must do if you are in Penang. Thank you Su Li for a memorable experience!

  Su Li food tour was a wonderful experience for all of us, we ate lots of beautiful food and also got to cook our own noodles,which were yummy, all of us learnt alot about different sorts of fruits and spices, went to the markets,to see how local people buy and prepare they food to eat would highly recommend this tour ,you will not be disappointed, both with the food knowledge and of course Su Li the most wonder host to have

  Su Li shared her love of her region and the tasty local foods. This was an amazing cultural tour of the heritage section of Georgetown. The wall art walking and driving tour was fantastic. We saw art on containers in the middle of a rice paddy and on the walls of the towns. I would recommend her tours to everyone.   I had such a fun time on a food tour in Penang with Su Li! We hit up four different spots, each with a totally different cuisine. But let me tell you, the tomyam beehoon at this cozy Nyonya place was the highlight for me! It was the perfect mix of spicy and tangy—I could’ve easily had seconds (or thirds). What made it even better was that each cuisine had so much culture packed into it! It wasn’t just about eating amazing food (which we definitely did), but also experiencing the heart and soul behind each dish. Plus, walking around town between stops was a whole experience on its own. We got to appreciate all the beautifully restored UNESCO heritage buildings, along with the stunning temples dotted around the streets. It felt like we were soaking in Penang’s history and culture with every step. If you love good food, exploring historic spots, and diving into the culture behind each dish, this tour is a must. You’ll leave with a happy stomach, new knowledge, and a deeper appreciation for Penang’s incredible food scene! Suli（スー・リー）と一緒にペナンのグルメツアーに参加し、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。4か所を訪れ、それぞれ全く異なる料理を楽しみましたが、特にニョニャ料理のお店で食べたトムヤムクンが一番印象に残りました。スパイシーで酸味が効いていて、何度でも食べたくなる味でした。 また、料理に込められた文化や歴史を感じられたのも魅力でした。さらに、街歩きではユネスコ世界遺産の建物や美しい寺院を楽しむことができました。 美味しい料理や歴史的な場所に興味がある方には、このツアーはおすすめです。ペナンのグルメと文化を深く知ることができる素晴らしい体験です。

  We went on this Food Tour led by Suli expecting delicious food and it certainly did not disappoint! It was AMAZING! She managed to highlight every aspect of the multicultural Penang. We enjoyed the walk around UNESCO world heritage Georgetown, while stopping over to highlight the architecture, history and scenery. The food was very delicious, we started off with Chinese Malaysian cuisine then, Nyonya, Indian and finally Malay cusine. It was very well thought out and she was very accommodating to everyone’s allergy and dietary requirements. She also gave us recommendations outside of the food tour for us to visit after and little tips on how to order in Hokkein. Which was so helpful! For anyone wanting to book a food tour with her I highly recommend Suli! Just a suggestion - bring some hats or umbrella cause the tropical sun can be uncomfortable!

  The Food Tour led by Suli was not only yummilicious but also fun and informative! We had a great time learning about the local food as well as the history of the 4 settlements that gave rise to the unique and diverse range of cuisine found only in Penang! The food quality was excellent, authentic and each offering was carefully thought-out as examples of the best of each cuisine. Our group members are all very discerning foodies but we actually finished all the food and ended up with a bit of food coma! 🤣 My personal favourites were the Char Koay Teow with the right amount of 'Wok hei' and succulent prawns and the crunchy, cheesy Paper Tosai - just couldn't stop eating it! Will highly recommend it to anyone at the start of your stay in Penang, cos Suli also gives great recommendations for other places to eat on your own! Suli さんが案内してくれたフード ツアーは最高でした！ペナンでしか味わえないユニークで多様な料理を生み出した 4 つの集落の歴史について学んだりして、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。私たちのグループのメンバーは皆Foodieとして厳しく評価しましたが、それぞれの料理が慎重に考え抜かれて、本格的でペナンを代表する物ばかりでした。 お勧めはジューシーなエビが入ったチャー クイ ティオウと、辞められないカリカリのペーパー トーサイです！　Suli さんは、ツア一の後に自分でも食べに行ける場所も沢山紹介して貰えますので、滞在の早い段階でツアーに参加することをお勧めです。
