Lake Pontchartrain
ニューオーリンズ中心部でピックアップ後、ポンチャートレイン湖を渡って少しドライブすると、ルイジアナ州で最後に保護された湿地のひとつである野生動物保護区ハニーアイランドスワンプに到着します。
ガイドが特注の 22 人乗り平底ボートに乗ってお客様をお迎えします。小型で静かなボートは沼地の木の葉の中の狭い通路を通過できるため、より多くの野生動物を観察し、より近づくことができます。 ガイドがルイジアナ州の湿地と沼地の生態系の歴史を説明するので、ワニ、アライグマ、フクロウ、イノシシ、ヌートリア、ヘビ、カメ、ツキノワグマ、ハクトウワシ、その他の鳥類に注意してください。ガイドが体重 453 kg (1,000 ポンド) にも達する歯の生えた獣についての事実を説明しながら、野生のワニを間近で観察しましょう。 肥沃な湿地を安全に滑りながら、ケイジャンの文化や、地元の人々が食料、住居、医薬品のために湿地をどのように利用してきたかについて学びましょう。ボートでしかアクセスできない本物のケイジャン村も見えます。湿地が徐々に失われつつある理由と、ルイジアナ州の自然の宝物を保護するために行われている取り組みについて理解します。 魅力的な 2 時間のボート ツアーの後、ガイドが海岸に戻ります。

5.00Captain Dustin was amazing. Very personable, informative, and patient with my family of 17. We saw a ton of alligators, as well as spiders, raccoons, and grasshoppers. We really enjoyed this tour…. Our driver Regina was also nice. Safe ride while also pointing out various buildings and providing information on areas. This tour was amazing and I’m so glad we booked and completed with Cajun Encounters.

5.00Captain Rick was fantastic! He was incredibly funny, kept everyone entertained the entire tour, and shared so much interesting information about the area and wildlife. Most importantly, he made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time. You can tell he’s experienced and genuinely enjoys what he does. The swamp tour was one of the highlights of our trip, and I would absolutely recommend Captain Rick to anyone looking for a fun and memorable experience!
