厳粛で壮大なパンパ女神の地、現在のハンピは、南インドを支配したヴィジャヤナガル王国（紀元14～16世紀）の首都でした。
かつては計り知れない富と繁栄で知られたこの有名な場所には、砦の壁、市場の店、街の入り口、検問所、厩舎、貯水池、川沿いの建造物、王室の建物、寺院、マンタパと呼ばれる柱廊など、1600以上の建造物が今も残っています。
ポンペイのローマのように、大規模な戦争の後、廃墟となりました。今日、発掘された遺跡はユネスコの世界遺産になっています。
アネグンディは、今日ではハンピの向かいのトゥンガバドラ川のほとりにある趣のある村です。歴史的には、ここはヴィジャヤナガル王国の古い首都でした。ここもハンピの世界遺産の一部です。

5.00We had a 3 days tour in Hampi and Anegundi with Poornima. It was perfect: diverse, interesting, insightful. Poornima explains extremely well and adapted to our needs and knowledge. She also asked about our wishes and planned accordingly. On top, she’s a great storyteller.

5.00This tour is an absolute must do. So much historical artistry and architecture still intact. The surrounding countryside is stunning. There are rice patties and banana Groves, all set along the mountains and the river.
