5.00Our guide, Mayrol, and driver, Luis, were great. We spent an afternoon touring the Monastery of Santa Domingo and the Lima Cathedral (St. John the Evangelist) in Central Lima on one day, and then from Paracas to the Pachacamac site on another day. Mayrol was very congenial and extremely knowledgeable not only about the sites we visited, but about Peruvian life, culture and history. He even gave us tips on where to shop and where to eat in Lima, such as Kuna, Sol Alpaca and Ilaria for shopping and the Museo Larco Caffe/Restaurant. When we told him my husband was Nebraska, he told us an amusing story about going to Peru, Nebraska, to promote Peru in that tiny town in the middle of the US, Luis was cordial and a great driver, and offeredinfo that Mayrol didn’t know, such as crops in the areas we drove through on our way to Pachacamac.
