What To Expect
マオリの視点からワイヘキ島を探索するプライベート グループと一緒に 1 日を過ごしましょう。最初は、ハウラキ湾、オークランド市、太平洋の素晴らしい海の景色を眺めながら、ワイヘキへのオリエンテーションです。手付かずの白い砂浜を訪れ、訪れて見た場所の歴史と物語を聞いてください。 ワイヘケ島のマオリ コミュニティの中心を訪れ、彫刻や伝統的な刺青の意義と重要性、マオリ語の活性化、マオリの人々への植民地化の影響について学びます。 昼食は地元のカフェでおいしい料理とコーヒーをお楽しみください。 在来の茂みの中をガイド付きで散歩している間、ガイドが在来植物の伝統的および薬用のマオリの使用について説明し、クマラピット、貝塚、防御テラスの考古学的遺跡があるパ（要塞化された村）の頂上に連れて行きます。在来鳥のトゥイ、ケレル、ピワカワカも見られるでしょう。 午後 4 時の帰りのフェリーに間に合うように、ガイドが埠頭に戻ります。または、島にもっと長く滞在したい場合は、主要な村であるオネロアに立ち寄り、フェリーまで徒歩 15 分または短いバスで戻ることができます。

5.00Dell was an absolute pleasure! She took us around the island showing different vantage points while explaining the Māori culture and history of Waiheke in exquisite depth. We even had a fantastic lunch at Mudbrick winery and an olive oil/manuka honey tasting. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend her.

5.00WOWEEEE! Where to start?! Lets start with Maria, our wonderful guide - she is incredibly knowledgeable & has lived on the island for many years so knows her stuff! Super accommodating & easy to get on with - we really had a blast & she went the extra mile for us - so thank you Maria!! The tour was outstanding & we were blessed with such a magical sunny day on Waiheke, it really just couldn't have gone better. We got to see & learn a lot of the history of the island first hand, as fellow New Zealanders ourselves we've been to Waiheke many times but never learnt about the cultural/historical side of the island so this was eye opening for us. All round an AMAZING day so a massive thank you guys & couldn't recommend Terra and Tide enough!

5.00We were picked directly off the ferry and brought to many amazing sights and vistas. We also enjoyed excellent wine. The history of this little island is of particular interest.

5.00Maria was amazing and really made the tour special. She was incredibly knowledgeable about wildlife on the island (especially birds) plant life, and Māori history. My partner and I had an incredible time and she recommended some other activities for us to check out later on in the trip. Could not be more pleased with the experience nor more happy to have met her.
Highly enjoyable introduction to cultural and natural highlights of the island.

5.00Justine was super friendly and accomodating, and knowledgable about Maori culture and history as well as nature. She drove us to some interesting locations on the island, and after an enjoyable walk through a magical fern-and Manuka forest we arrived at the Mudbrick vineyard for a wine tasting. We had another nature walk at a quiet beach, admired the 500 year old NZ Christmas tree, and then had a nice fresh lunch together. The day was relaxed, we could chat and learn about culture and history, and simply had a great day together. Highly recommended for a one day trip.

3.00The view on Waiheke Island is magnificent but this is not a cultural experience. We saw a Maori welcome hut but could not go in because no one was there to welcome us. As we traversed the island we were told about Māori rituals and life but saw nothing in person. Justine, our tour guide, was fantastic - she showed us the island and told us all about the customs - but that is not at all what we expected. The day before we toured Auckland on the same kind of tour for 1/4th the price. That is what this tour was worth.

5.00The views were amazing. We were myself (dad), my son and his pal. Justine adjusted our private tour effortlessly as these 16 year old adventure seekers wanted more of the danger, less vineyard beauty. Notwithstanding, she was able to connect with them as well as “adult” me and we were able to do both. I have never had such a wonderful guide and ill never forget it.
