• Great guide but the itinerary needs updating.

  Trevor, my guide was exceptional. Picked up from my hotel which was a bonus because it would have been very difficult for me to get to the assigned meeting place. I was the only person booked so that made it easier for him to get me. He was great, very warm and welcoming. Born and raised in Saint John, he had some great information about the city. He took me to all of the stops and was open to waiting for me to read etc. (I like history). The disappointment of this tour was that all of the paid attractions were closed - so no Martello tower, no Fort La Tour, not sure where the Skywalk was, but I don't think I went... So this tour includes admission to paid attractions but the attractions are not available (at least not on June 9th) - the itinerary should be updated. Great guide though, I really appreciated Trevor!

  Viatour left us stranded with no tour due to being unable to accomodate our pre booked group of 6. We had to scramble and get a tour guide off the street and had a wonderful day no thanks to Viatour. Shame on you.

  Party of 6 booked but tour provider could only take 4 and asked us to decide which couple would get left back. Ridiculous. Also meeting place was a gift shop who had nothing to do with the tour company indicating that this stuff seems to happen often with this tour company. Why Viator can’t weed out these companies is beyond me

  Although booked several weeks in advance, The tour company called the day of our trip to tell us they coukd no longer accommodate all of us and asked us to choose which ones to exclude. We chose to cancel and requested refunds.

• Terrible Communication, did not get what we paid for

  The communication for this tour was awful, and our short time in St. John was wasted. We were on a cruise and they tried to change our 12:00 tour to 4:00! When I asked them to confirm the meeting place, they did not reply. We went to the place they had originally told us. There was another couple there who had a similar request for changing the tour. While there they got a text that the tour guide was on his way (to a DIFFERENT pick up point!). They asked that we be picked up where we were and got no response. They got frustrated and left and my husband and I remained. Someone finally came (a half hour late). He did his best to give us a tour, but we did not get the tour we paid for. We did NOT get admission to the Fort or the tower because they are not currently open for tourists. This was know by the operator and should have been communicated to us, as our cost included admission fees. Under the circumstances, I felt it would be fair to request half of our tour cost be refunded. I have not heard a thing from the tour operator since making this request. I will NEVER use them again ,and I feel Viator should stand behind the tours they offer and intervene on our behalf to encourage the refund request be granted.

  We were arriving on a cruise ship, the night before they cancelled without explanation and offered the next day instead. This of course was not possible, so had to scramble to find something else to do.

• A Fun Day Despite the Rain

  First, Viator and See Sight Tours were wonderfully patient with us when our cruise ship gave us conflicting information about our arrival time and it looked like we wouldn't be able to get to our pickup spot by the right time. Thank you so much for working with us! Second, although we had a rain-soaked day, our tour of St. John's was conducted by the wonderful Gannon, who was undaunted by heavy rain and insisted on circling back to certain spots when the rain stopped to ensure we got to see the very best of the city. The only reason we're giving a four-star rather than a five-star review is that the private car we rode in (a Chevvy Trailblazer), did not comfortably fit four full-sized adult passengers. If you are a family of two with two children and are considering taking this tour, it would be fine.

  Despite the rain, Gannon hosted an excellent tour! We saw the sights and were amazed by the reverse falls! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a tour from the cruise ship.
