  I’ve done three walks with Clarisse so far and I’m going to do a lot more because it’s a superb way to get to know the city, explore it, know about its history and curiosities. Clarisse is an extremely competent, thoughtful and funny pro, with her charisma and knowledge you will learn a lot about the city in a pleasant and lively way.

  Very interesting visit to the old town. Clarisse is a guide who walks the city all year round and knows it like the back of her hand. Discovery of less touristy but very authentic corners. This night visit allows you to see the city differently!

  I spent a superb evening with Clarisse discovering Suzhou Creek. Visiting a city yourself is one thing, with Clarisse, you discover unusual places, you understand their stories and even better you learn a lot about the history of this city, its richness, Chinese culture. I recommend 300%

  Arcade Historic Tours - Hongkou Walk. We've been on numerous walks with Arcade and their walking tours never disappoint! Expert guide, Clarisse, always has so many anecdotes and fun details to share during these walks as we discover different areas of the inner city of Shanghai. It always amazes us how much knowledge she has of places and the people who once inhabited them. I think they should come out with a guidebook of Arcade walks! A little bonus ending to this great tour was a lovely visit to a shop, akin to the cavern of Alibaba, filled with trinkets and treasures from Shanghai's past. Clarisse introduced us to the shop-owner who is a passionate collector of antique relics from turn of the century Shanghai. We enjoyed a delightful visit browsing his shop and exchanging with him. Such moments and personal encounters always make Arcade tours extra special and stand apart from other walking tours in this city! We highly recommend any of their walking tours, mysterious hunts or Cluedo-style games!

  Thank you very much to Clarisse for these 2 visits to Shanghai, that of the old town and that concerning the architect Laszlo Hudec. We really appreciated his in-depth knowledge, his dynamism, his spontaneity and his smile! She took us to unusual places where we would never have dared to venture like the old Shanghai Theater, the Art Deco Park Hotel, an old bank, the old streets of Shanghai etc. it was great ! She is passionate about China and the history of Shanghai and manages to capture our attention with many anecdotes during the visits, we don't see the time passing! A must do!

  The Suzhou Creek tour with Arcade Experiences took me to Shanghai off the beaten track. Clarisse, our guide, details the historic buildings we pass and tells their stories thanks to her in-depth knowledge. The small group tour format allows for opportunities to ask questions, interact, and better understand Shanghai and its culture.

  Our experience with Clarisse more than perfect, visit to the former French concession, part of the old town, a Buddhist temple and lunch in the same place beyond a classic guide she shares her love of Shanghai its culture its history and its hidden treasures that she knows in depth to take us away from tourist brochures that are often incomplete or erroneous. With Clarisse there are no good or bad questions, don't hesitate, she will always answer you happily. It holds our attention with so much conviction that we almost forget to take photos but everything stays in our memory even long after the walk and bike ride. THANK YOU Clarisse for this wonderful experience with a desire to come back.

  With Clarisse, we visited a little of the former French concession, the old town, and a Buddhist temple. Our guide was extremely fascinating, because she herself was passionate about Shanghai. Very familiar with the habits and customs, the history of Shanghai, but also current life in this great megacity. I highly recommend to any French traveler who wants to discover Shanghai to contact Arcade experiences. Several themed visits are offered. Unfortunately, not enough time to do more.
