  Excellent trip. Monica was superb and even when there was an issue with the ferry service (technical issue), she was cool, calm and collected. Monica swiftly and seamlessly amended the last part of our itinerary so that we could complete the full journey. Monica is an asset to the company.

  We had a great day today with Monica. She is friendly and cheerful. She was un-fazed when advised of a breakdown of one of the lake boats and quickly arranged alternatives to allow us to complete all planned attractions. The tour schedule is good. Thanks again Monica!

  Highly recommend this trip for several reasons : 1) the tour guide. We had Guilia and she was delightful. She was from the lakes area so she knew the area and able to take us to special areas 2) the tour company takes care of train tickets and ferry tickets. We took a train to Varenna, then took ferry to Como then another ferry to Bellino. It was a beautiful day on the water. Guilia gave us a tour of each city and then gave us time to shop, eat and explore. The last stop included a short, somewhat easy hike to a waterfall. It was a whole day event but worth it. Excited to go back to the area and explore more of the towns and countryside.

  Thanks so much for a great trip today Monica! Full of energy, informative but not overloading and lovely planned day. Our itinerary had to change slightly due to boat issues (out of the company’s control) and Monica was quick to propose an alternate route to ensure we still made all destinations. Great restaurant recommendations given to us too. Fantastic day, highly recommend!

• A terrific tour of the Lake Como area with our guide Gulia.....

  From start to finish, everything was extremely well planned and executed by the vendor and our tour guide Gulia. I had hopes for what the tour would be, and they were exceeded. 1) Meeting up was simple using the pictures provided by the vendor. Gulia was on time and greeted each guest personally. As a group we were on time and made our way to the train platform smoothly. 2) Gulia monitored the train schedule and had us comfortably in our train seats before the main throng of passengers arrived. 3) Using the amplified "whisper" headsets, Gulia gave us a very nice narrative of the area as we rode to Varenna. We had plenty of time in Varenna to ourselves before crossing the lake on the ferry to Bellagio. On the ferry to Bellagio, Gulia again gave us a great overview of the area. 4) In Bellagio, Gulia gave us a helpful walking tour of the main areas before turning us loose for free time and lunch. Where and when to meet up was clearly communicated. Next we took the ferry over to Bellano to see the gorge. 5) The gorge area was very refreshing as well as interesting - we've never seen such a combination of gorges and waterfalls - quite unique and beautiful. 6) Again we had free time in Bellano before heading to the train for the return to Milan. We were extremely impressed with Gulia - one of the most friendly, positive, and informative guides we've ever had. She carefully watched over everyone's safety and made a point of spending time with everyone to get to know us better. Bravo to the tour company for working out all the small details. The train was perfect, getting us on to the ferries first to have the best seats was appreciated. The flow from place to place was smooth and unhurried - we had plenty of time to do what we wanted. In closing, I give Gulia and the tour vendor the highest possible ratings because it was a near perfect tour. We wouldn't hesitate to tour again with Gulia and Abroads Tours, and I highly recommend their services to you.

• Fabulous introduction to Lake Como area

  It was lovely to experience the towns of Bellagio and varena which are very busy with tourists but beautiful. The third town Bellano was more quiet not so touristy and here we saw a beautiful gorge and waterfall. So the tour was a fantastic mix. It was nice to end at Bellano. Our guide Guilia was awesome.   I love the fact that I got to skip the LONG ferry queue for tickets and meet some fun people! Andre, my groups guide was the best. He kept us informed throughout the trip and told us many things about the areas we were seen. I truly wanted to see the towns and gorge and ferry across Lake Como but, and I could have done this on my own BUT, did not want to stand in very long queue for ferry tickets. Finding this on Viator made my day!
