Wonderful experience learning about the local foods and cooking techniques. The cooking class was fantastic and we also got to experience walking around the beautiful grounds and seeing the river. Highly recommend giving this class a try!

One of the best places to stay on Efate. Close to Port Vila and attractions on the south east coast, as well as having many activities right on site. The accommodation was beautiful. Cute little houses with everything you need to live comfortably and self cater if you wish. Or you have the choice of the basic but very yummy meals at the restaurant .. I recommend the banana cake, pesto toasties and BBQ chicken pizza. The activities were so fun and staff so helpful. I loved the cooking class where I met some day trippers and we all enjoyed our tastey simboro creation. The bridge walk and zip line activity was fun and definitely a highlight. Probably the best part of my 3 night stay were my daily walks down and along the river with Rosey and Snowflake, the retreat dogs, who kept me company, ensured I took all of the right paths and were happy to spend time relaxing with me well into the evenings which made me feel right at home and safe.

Such a fun and interactive way to learn about traditions, customs and cooking in Vanuatu by a local. Our guide showed us how to make a dish in her communities method, telling stories and explaining customs along the way. While the food cooked, we had a guided tour of where they grow the ingredients on site. We then got to relax and enjoy the fruits of our labour. But Eden on the River offers so much more than just a cooking class - we would highly recommend bringing your swimwear and allocating extra time to have a river swim and check out the property!

What an enjoyable experience of a little piece of Vanuatun culture. There were 3 of us and picked right on time and it took about 40 minutes before we arrived at Eden River. Everything was well organised and we loved making our Simboro (a steamed roll of manioc wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in coconut milk. While that was being finished we toured their orchards and vege patch and even picked some starfruit to finish our lunch. It was delicious! We returned to the ship via a detour thru the main town, unfortunately we didn't have enough time to shop! Maybe next time.
