Amazing experience in Algonquin Park, canoing through the lakes in a nature so peaceful it was almost irreal. Baz the guide was extraordinaire , knowledgeable, funny & super helpful and a perfect camp cook. It was fun, I’ll always hold dear the memories I made there.

4 wonderful days in the heart of Algonquin Park. Everything was very well organized, the food was very good and Baz, our guide, shared with us with passion and humor his knowledge of the territory. It was a real plus to have a base camp and explore the surrounding area rather than set up and tidy up every day.

He was a really great trip. We were three children (11, 14, 16) and two adults and had a lot of fun. It was an incredibly great group and Baz was super relaxed and explained the most important things and cooked tasty food. They were unbelievably beautiful days where you could enjoy nature. It's great that you don't have to worry about the food or the tents. We would book this tour again.

We just got back from an amazing 3 night excursion with Baz. The whole experience, from booking with Kristina, to our final canoe trip back, was wonderful. We brought our 10 month old (which I don’t recommend) but Baz and Kristina made sure it was as seamless as possible and they were very accommodating. We were in a beautiful location, the meals were great, and Baz’ excursions were ones we’ll never forget. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic Canadian adventure.

Baz is a great human being and guide, the Algonquin backcountry is beautiful and worth the admission ticket alone, food was very good. The canoeing is a fabulous adventure through lakes and creeks. We have not been camping on this level before, and the four in our family will never forget this life affirming adventure. Moose coming out the lake 10 feet from our tent at dawn, wolves calling in the night (a long way off), frogs and moose calls at night, oh... and a tornado. The trip had it all, we would not hesitate to book again. We were lucky and had fantastic weather, apart from the tornado early one evening, but even that was fun. Met 3 other families we had never met before, 15 people in total but were all great and had kids the same age and attitude. Star gazing canoe trip, sunrise canoe trip, cliff jumping canoe trip, canoeing up creeks to find beavers. Do it all if you can. Maybe some things to consider tho dont be put off, paddling in high wind can be challenging (knackering), Evening Tornado aside, we had fantastic weather. if we had bad weather it would have made a difference if it was windy and wet, but what can you do about that? A lot of canoeing, but only if you want it, and we did, great fun. The camp site is basic, but comfortable, but if your prepared to go basic camping then it is what it is. The frogs at night are like a car alarm going off (that loud) by your head every five minutes but you do get used to it, tho not a lot of sleep had on the first night, but had the odd nap during the day. You will need adequate mosquito prevention and even then mossies can cut short an evening at the camp fire. You will be knackered, but a better person at the end of it. Would not have missed it for the world. Its an adventure in the Algonquin backcountry! Five stars from all 4 of the family (from 59 to 16 YO) all the way. Book it!

Great camping trip with nice guide, Baz. Obviously no guarantee that you will see bears or elk, but there is plenty of other nature to enjoy.

You will be pooping in a wooden box with zero privacy ( no walls- this is many many steps below an outhouse. ) when it rains you are pooping on a wet wooden box as the puddles stream through your toes. You will be sleeping on a cot that is made of aluminum and is about 20 inches wide so the sides dig into your arms all night. You may only choose to sleep on your back- there is no other possible position. No foam pad, no air mattress. No sleeping bag insert. The two adult women both had to sleep on the forest floor due to the cots being so uncomfortable. Did I mention the tree roots are massive and stick up out of the floor? I personally got 1 hr sleep the first night about 5 the second night and 3 the third night. Our guide, Baz, made several comments that made my 11 year old daughter feel very uncomfortable. Talking about “ popping a boner” is not appropriate He also took many photos of my daughters in their swimsuits. ( never the adults..) He also liked to talk about himself a lot and intruded on our family time at the evening bonfire. There was no astronomy lesson, no native sauna and scrubbing salts, no informative talks on turtles, moose, beaver or bear…. We, the guests, did all of the dinner cooking and in our free time the men were asked to rebuild his kitchen tarp and supports which they did for about 90 minutes, while he talked about himself. After meals he dumped all the food into the lake- never asking if people were done. Much of the food could’ve been saved for snacking ( little pancakes, sausages, fruit). There was nowhere for 9 guests to sit and eat when it rained… ( there is no shelter other than his kitchen)there is no table anywhere to eat, play cards or do anything. This trip would be 1000x better with a different guide , some foam pads to sleep on and 4 walls around the toilet. I have camped my whole life, and this was below any standard I’ve ever encountered. Some tips for your party-bring instant coffee so you don’t have to drink sludge, tinfoil, so you can cook on the open fire without loosing all the veggies you’ve sliced up to the grate and flames (and so not everything has char on it…)and a sharp knife because he doesn’t have one. Oh and don’t forget hand sanitizer. Yuk! We were lucky to see a lovely bull moose eating- but no thanks to our guide… he wasn’t even with us! The jumping rock and paddling were very nice and spending time with family was fantastic. For this type of $$$ the poor quality of your bed, the guide, and the lack of dry sitting area are absolutely ridiculous. I would look elsewhere or rent canoes and go by yourself.

We had an amazing canoe trip with Baz as our guide. There were only four of us in total, which was perfect! The weather was great, and Baz showed us everything around the camp and beyond. The food was different every day and super delicious – thanks to Christina, who took care of the planning and preparation behind the scenes. We’d happily go camping with Baz (and Christina in the background!) again anytime!

Writing a small paragraph here will never do the experience justice. Absolutely fantastic! Went in expecting it to be a nice little group adventure, turned out due to some last minute changes to be just me and Baz. Ended up getting a life experience I'll not forget! Felt like I went on a camping trip with an old friend more than anything. Him showing me around all the wonderful places and taking care of the actual surviving part was a bonus. Beautiful views, food and convos made possible by a genuinely great person! Thank you Baz and Kristina for making it possible, wishing you another wonderful 751 trips to come! Cheers, Nick
