Great city tour but NOT a food tour.

3.00The tour was ok but nothing to write home about. It was more of a city tour with a stop for lunch then it was an actual food tour. The descriptions were a bit misleading as well. For example, the visit to Rahat chocolate factory was just a walk through a store where we could buy chocolate if we wanted to. There was no taste testing or sampling there. We did a few samplings at the Green market and then ate at a restaurant but that was all. For almost $500, we expected much more. Our tour guide was really sweet though and we learned a lot. I would recommend this tour to learn about the history and culture of Almaty. But if you're wanting a food tour, pass on this one. Stop by the Green Market and have a meal at Bauyrdaq yourself. You'll have the same experience for hundreds of dollars less.

5.00Gulzat is an excellent guide and a great travel companion. Very friendly, communicative, with a great command of English and Russian, with profound knowledge of culture and history. She was very helpful to organize a traditional dinner with folk music for our group of 30 people. Excellent service! Very professional in her business conduct. I recommend her services without any hesitations. Dear Gulzat, it was my pleasure to meet you and I hope our paths are going to cross again. Thank you!

5.00We booked a walking tour with Gulzat for the start of our 10-day holiday in Kazakhstan and it was a great call. Gulzat showed us a lot of Almaty's history as we walked through the beautiful park, helped us buy various items to try at the Green Bazaar, and introduced us to so many delicious Kazakh dishes over a bountiful lunch. Thanks Gulzat for setting us up for a great trip in your gorgeous country!

5.00This was the first activity we did on our kazhaksthan trip, and Gulzar our guide, made us feel at home. She took us on a walking tour around the city in and around the panfilov street while telling us about the history of the place. After lots of walking more than an hour or two, we had a great kazak lunch with all the authentic local dishes. A nice way to start our trip.
