この日帰りツアーでは、カンタベリー平原を横切ってポーターズ パス (標高 1,000 m 弱、アーサーズ パスより高い) まで約 80 マイルを進み、南アルプスに入ります。山間の湖や幅広の網状の川が古代の氷河の谷を流れています。約 2 時間半後、アーサーズ パス国立公園とそのブナ林に到着します。私たちは峠の頂上まで車で行き、西海岸の熱帯雨林を眺めながら分かれてから、ここの AP ビレッジで昼食をとります。時間が許せば、帰りはクライストチャーチを簡単に観光し、キャッスル ヒルで少し散歩します。

Wonderful Arthur's Pass day trip

5.00Dermot was highly professional and knowledgable. He was safety-conscious, and navigated the mountainous roads and one-lane tracks with ease. His vehicle was spacious, clean and comfortable. He knew the best places to eat, rest, take walks and snap good photographs. E.g. we stopped at Castle Hill, which looked exactly like a Lord of the Rings scene, although it was not the actual set. While he was a good conversationist as he drove, he also let us take naps when we needed it. He was accommodating towards our requests to tweak the itinerary, including last minute requests, like jet boating on the Waimakariri River. As a result we enjoyed our day trip to the Pass!
