• Multiple wineries, real local spots, and a guide who actually knows his stuff

  We usually plan our own trips down to the last detail, so booking a private wine tour wasn't something we'd normally do — but this was absolutely worth it. Olivier brought us to picturesque local spots we never would have found on our own, took us to a local restaurant for an authentic meal (not a tourist trap), and arranged visits to several wineries including small, family-run wineries throughout the day. He was extremely knowledgeable and generous with his insight at each stop — we left having actually learned about the region and the wine, not just tasted it. If you're someone who likes to DIY your travel like we do, I'd still say this is one of those experiences worth handing over to a local expert. Couldn't recommend it more.

  My partner and I are winemakers from the US and have a majority of Rhone varietals planted. We wanted an in-depth visit to the region, to speak with French winemakers and owners, and to learn about their viticultural practices. Olivier was absolutely perfect as our guide! We learned so much from him, and he curated an ideal group of wineries to help us achieve our mission. Whether you are very knowledgeable about the wine business or just love wine, we highly recommend Olivier and Kanpai tours.

  Fantastic wine tour with Olivier. Knowledgeable guide took us to great wine tastings, but also in-the-know spots letting us see the top of the Hermitage hill and beautiful vies of Cote Rotie

  I contacted Olivier in Kanpai to arrange a 3-day outing for a group of English friends in the Rhone wine region. It was a pleasure to communicate with him to arrange the itinerary; full of advice and very good contacts with all areas of the region. The group really liked Olivier as Guide and the restaurants were all excellent. Olivier has everything, airport transfers, wine itinerary, tastings, meals... everything went very well and has a very good Award. I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Kanpai, you will be in good hands!

• Excellent Rhone Valley Wine Tour

  My wife and I were Celebrating our 50th Anniversary and wanted to visit the Rhone Valley. We were booked with Olivier through our Agent and were very Lucky for that. He was tremendous. He was super knowledgeable about all the French Wines and the History of the Region. He knew every little road leading to the Vineyards. He picked us up from our Hotel in Lyon and we spent the whole day with him. He is a super guy. He listens and is caring to make sure it is a great experience, for which it was. We learned so much from him. He took us to Three Wineries and tasted 4-5 Wines each from Cote-Rotie, Condrieu & St. Joseph . He also took us to the top of the Area that had the most fantastic views. We stopped at a great restaurant for Lunch that was so good and reasonable. From there we also went to a Chocolate Factory and we bought a lot of Chocolate to bring home. He is the BEST Wine Guide we have ever experienced and like I said he is very nice person. If you are looking for a Great Wine Tour you must use Olivier. You will not be disappointed. Olivier, thank you for your help in making our 50th Anniversary Vacation so Memorable. Mike & Frances

  

• Book a trip to Lyon just to take Olivier's tour!

  What can I say about this tour with Olivier? I'll use a lot of adjectives: amazing, fascinating, awe-inspiring, thrilling, fantastic, interesting, engaging -- but most importantly, delicious! When you meet Olivier, it's like you're meeting a friend. He so warm and friendly -- the drive up to the wine region is filled with chatter and laughs. He shares history and interesting facts that shape your appreciation for the region. Olivier picked three wineries for us to visit. My wife works in the wine industry in Sonoma -- so she had high expectations for this pilgrimage to the home of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. It not only met her high expectations - but exceeded them. At the two family wineries, both hosts were extremely welcoming and shared some of the best wines we've ever tasted. The third was a regional commercial winery that rounded out our experience that day. Each winery had such an interesting story and their histories go back hundreds (if not longer) in the art of winemaking. We're eagerly awaiting all the wine we shipped home that day! Olivier has clearly nurtured strong relationships with every place he took us (including the delicious local lunch stop) that we were lucky enough to enjoy first-hand. You're not going to places 5hat accept buses of tourists - you're pretty much walking into these families' homes. Again, I can't even begin to summarize how incredible our day trip was to the Cotes du Rhône. You're not booking a driving tour of wine country. This is an excursion and an experience that you'll never forget. Merci Olivier! Please let us know when you're ever in the San Francisco are!   This was a wonderful tour. Olivier is very, very knowledgeable about wine and knows the producers in the area. It was a treat for us to visit prestigious producers and taste their wines. We have been all over the world for wine and for us this was a splendid experience. Olivier was right on time at our hotel and got us back on time as well. We had an excellent lunch with him at a very nice place. He took us to the back of beyond and we saw vineyard sights we never would have seen by ourselves. If you are interested in wine and in the region you should go with Kanpai Tours without doubt.

  My friend and I went to Lyon to spend the weekend and schedule this tour. It was by far one of my favorite experiences in lots of travels around the world. Mr. Olivier was very knowledgeable about the region and history. He has very good relationships with the vineyards, and we felt very welcome and comfortable. In the current global circumstances, Mr. Olivier also took all precautions for COVID.
