Padmanabhapuram Palace
ティルヴァナンタプラムから約 40 マイルにあるサッカレーの町への 2 時間のドライブのために、午前中にホテルからピックアップされます。パドマナーバプラム宮殿は、サッカレーから車で約 15 分の場所にあります。 国王評議会室と塗装された天井のある王妃の宮殿、この大きな宮殿複合施設の最高のホールを訪れてください。また、マホガニーの音楽的な弓、色付きの雲母の窓、極東から持ち込まれた複雑な彫刻が施された王室の椅子、吊り下げられた真鍮のランタンも見られます。宮殿には、夏でも涼しく過ごせる石造りのベッドがあります。別の木製のベッドは、65 種類のハーブでできており、薬効があると信じられています。 宮殿の敷地内には博物館もあります。博物館には、家具、木像と石像、コイン、武器、道具が展示されています。 ツアーの最後に、地元のレストランで昼食 (自費) をお楽しみください。 昼食後、ティルヴァナンタプラムに戻り、ホテルにお送りします。

Purely personal affairs of the royal family

4.00It was a good experience looking at the sprawling palace where the royal kings of Travancore and their families lived for centuries. Right from a spoon to the giant elephant( made from the real skin of the elephant) it is purely the royal family's personal affairs. I wondered how those kings rolling literally on heaps of gold and wealth could live such a life of royalty and luxury when thousands of their citizens were struggling to get even one meal a day. Whatever was kept in the palace boasts of the royal family's richness, the carefully made wood cravings, and imported porcelain vessels from China which only conveys how selfish the kings were. Had the kings utilized some of the golden ornaments, worth a trillion US dollars today, stashed inside its treasury, many poor people who lived in the Travancore region could have had a few more hearty meals and may be a shade better life.
