• A beautiful Alaskian Memory

  My husband, myself, and a friend of ours took the Grand View Tour. It was my first time in a helicopter. We had already seen many beautiful spots in Alaska, but the view from the air was spectacular! Mike asked us what we preferred to see and took us to see both glaciers and the coastline showing us some of his favorite spots. Our friend was a retired commercial airline pilot, and she was impressed with his flying having been in the air with many helicopter pilots before.

  I realize you can get hesitant when you see the price, but if you're going to save up for an experience on your Alaska trip - I highly recommend you make it this one. My experience started long before I arrived in Alaska. Elise was so patient and helpful in walking me through options and making sure we had fallbacks in case of weather. We ended up optioning to take the Grand View Tour and modifying it for a 15 minute Glacier stop on Calypso Glacier - a decision we certainly don't regret doing. Our party of six was broken into two helicopters ensuring everyone had a view. The pilots were extremely safe, professional and knowledgeable about the area providing us background of what we flying over while also keeping a sharp eye out for wildlife (we saw harbor seals, dall sheep and plenty of hikers) as well as also constantly communicating with each other on position. The highlight for me was flying over Bear Glacier, along the ice shelf and around the icebergs breaking off the shelf. This is really the whole way you can experience this glacier up close as boats can't really travel in there. That alone makes the trip worth it. We carved through canyons, followed rivers of waterfalls and ice sheets and experienced Kenai Fjords the way no one else besides the birds could. Our pilots gave us ample time on the Glacier (which had an amazing view), gave us plenty of photo opportunities to see each other in the helicopter flying in formation. It's an experience my family will never forget. A fair warning though - I've been blessed with doing other helicopter experiences before (in Hawaii and elsewhere) and this was definitely more on the "sporty" side in terms of maneuvering. If you're iffy on air/motion sickness, you definitely may want to consider precautionary measures before departing. Don't let it discourage you from participating - I struggle to imagine a helicopter tour ANYWHERE that is better than this one. So make that booking - you won't regret it!

  Awe inspiring views. A definate bucket list item... If you're going to do one helicopter ride... Definitely do it in Alaska... The helicopter was new, quiet, and comfortable. I had no regrets!

• An Unforgettable Experience

  The private one hour, Grand View Tour with Seward Helicopter Tours was exception. It was an unforgettable highlight of our trip. We flew over Seward then south along the west shore of Resurrection Bay, then up a valley passing gorgeous water falls, and then over a ridge to Bear Glacier. The pilot was a helicopter instructor, who was very professional and made us feel very safe. We flew low above the glacier, seeing blue ice among the crevasses and deep blue pools of water. We flew over Bear Glacier Lagoon to see ice flows. Flying to higher altitudes we saw smaller glaciers, most likely not viewable except from the air. On the way back down the mountain we flew over a beautiful alpine lake, and from there over an alpine meadow, where we spotted a large black bear. We crossed Resurrection Bay to fly over marine sanctuaries, where we saw Steller seal lions. We returned to Seward along the east shore of Resurrection Bay. The Grand View Tour is highly recommended.

  This is your sign, if you're looking for a helicopter excursion, book with Seward Helicopters! From start to finish, this was - BY FAR - the best excursion we've ever had in our lives. It is the most breath taking, out of this world views. You start over the ocean, go through green mountains with a ton of waterfalls and then you go into the glaciers. I could not get over it, I low key cried at the sheer beauty of it all! Elise was manning the operations end was beyond helpful checking the weather and pilots. She helped pivot us to a different time so we had clear weather conditions and visibility. Due to her invaluable and prompt help, we had the BEST ride ever. She even has the cutest husky named Alpine that greats you as well. :) Our pilot Renzo, was a Swiss pilot was a ton of experience, who was very friendly and beyond knowledgeable of the terrain. He gets you up close to all the sights and has strong communication skills, always checking if you are okay with the turns. I cannot stress enough that if you're thinking of doing a helicopter ride, do yourself a favor that will last a lifetime: book with Seward Helicopters! Best experience of my life. Best service, best experience, best time! I'm attaching pictures but they truly does not do the views justice. It was like being on another planet!

• Incredible experience with Seward Helicopter Tours

  This was the third flightseeing tour that we did in a week and thought it might be too similar to the previous tours for it to be really enjoyable. However, this was one of the most amazing things I have ever done and so grateful that we got to experience it. The scenery was breathtaking! It was our pilot that made this trip absolutly incredible though. He was very experienced and was able to provide the most memorable part of our two week trip through Alaska. We were able to fly so close over the glaciers and felt like we were taking part in a action movie - with the pilot ensuring that we felt safe and comfortable with this all the way through the flight. Words can not explain this tour, other than that we would pay double to do it again. The photos that are on the website are actually the views that you experience, not from a camera with a good zoom. We saw the most beautiful icebergs in blue lakes, the coast line offered a different but equally beautiful view. We saw different views of the glaciers that we had not previously experienced and we were also lucky enough to see a bear and lots of other wildlife - despite the grey and rainy weather! What was equally impressive was how fantastic the entire team were. I recieved a phone call rather than lots of emails back and forth to discuss my plans. I changed my mind sereval times and they were exceptionally accomodating and so friendly. I really can't recommend this company enough. We followed this tour with the dog sledding tour, the musher was equally as lovely.
