アールデコが実際に何であるかを学ぶことから一日が始まります。そうすれば、ネーピアとヘイスティングスの都市で見られるユニークなアールデコに関して何に注意すべきかがわかります。ネーピアの街、ホークスベイ、ケープキッドナッパーズ、テマタピークを見渡す素敵な「オフトラック」の美しい展望台を訪れます。

次に、海岸沿いの今見たエリア、隠れた谷を通り、テマタピークに向かいます。その後、南半球最大の蜂蜜生産者も訪れます。ヘイスティングス地区のカフェで短いランチを楽しんだ後、ネーピアに戻ってワインの試飲を楽しみ、最後に愛情込めて保存されているアールデコ調の住宅街をドライブしてネーピアに戻ります。

Simar was really good at taking us to amazing wineries, a well arranged experience. The schedule was well thought out and was punctual. Polite and wonderful host who showed us another part on the area we probably would not have seen.

Te Mata is breathtaking even in the rain. The Mission winery tasting and tour is a treat: delicious wine combined with detailed history of the 175 years of the winery’s existence. Simar was a great chauffeur. They know the highlights of the area.

The content of this tour was basically fine and we enjoyed, particularly, the visits to the Mission Winery, the honey centre and Te Mata. Our issue was that our guide seemed to have very little knowledge of the places we drove through, was unable to answer most questions which we and the other couple on the tour asked, and had a poor command of English. When compared with the professional, informative and entertaining commentary we enjoyed on all our other New Zealand tours, this one was seriously underwhelming.
