  Our bar hopping tour in Himeji was one of the highlights of time there, not only because we got to taste various local sakes, liquors, and beers, but we really enjoyed getting to know the culture through our wonderful guides, Sho and Yu. As it turns out, Himeji is the sake capital of Japan. We were astonished by the incredible range of experience sake has to offer: sweet, tangy, herbal, hot. Other drinks were also fun, especially a local favorite, the "highball!" (sweet Japanese whiskey and soda) We visited four bar/restaurants. Lovely "snacks" (fried fish, pickle dishes, excellent chicken) were offered with each stop. The food was fun and accessible, even to people unfamiliar with the Japanese palate. Our guides Yu and Sho were warm and generous, full of good humor. They were always checking in and adjusting the tour to our tastes.   A fantastic night out! Got to visit some places off the beaten track. Highlights included the standing beer bar and the yummy gyoza! I would highly recommend for something a little different in Himeji.

  We went on the Himeji Bar Hopping tour with Yuu and Syo. They were fantastic tour guides. They took us to some really local spots and we eat delicious food and drank local draft beer. It was a great night and getting to see such local spots was priceless!
