• Friendly, beautiful tour!

  I went to Ise shrine with Misae while my parents were visiting me along with another friend. It was incredible! This was definitely the highlight for my parents time here. It was exactly what I would want in a private tour. It was the feeling of just being with a good friend who just happens to know all the useful information, customs (and language of course) that I needed to have a beautiful, meaningful trip. The shrine was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. The town had a welcoming and cozy feel with all the shops on the street. It helps we managed to get there on an absolutely perfect day, but I think it would be stunning any time. To top it all off, Misae also knew the food that you can only have in the area. That's the sort of thing I miss when I travel on my own or with other friends when we don't really know an area. We tried Ise Udon and it was delicious and special knowing it's a signature food from Ise.

  Misae (spelling?) was a wonderful tour guide!! She had a lot of knowledge of the area, the shrines, and the Shinto religion. She left us curious and wanting to know more, and her English was so good that we could ask her any questions and she could answer fully. She was very personable and attentive as well.   The trip was great. Our guide was kind and knowledgeable. She explained the customs and history to us which made the whole experience even better. She also helped us navigate the shops and restaurant and translated where necessary. I would highly recommend the tour.   Misae led me on the best tour I've ever taken in Japan, and gifted me one of my most treasured memories in my two years and four trips here. Getting to far-out hidden gems in a private car with a knowledgeable driver is nothing short of a luxury, but really the best part was Misae felt like a friend from the moment we met. She has a warm and generous presence that shows how much she cares about her clients and treats them like family, and she is a gifted conversationalist who can make a several-hour journey feel like only minutes have passed. She is also a certified tour guide who regularly researches and consults with others in the area to set up the most customized and up-to-date itinerary for her clients. She even knows the best places for food, souvenirs, and local experiences. Without her I would've missed out on a new favourite part of Japan, and even going on my own I wouldn't have found half the things Ise has to offer. I'm so excited I'll be able to share insider knowledge with a friend who's just moved to the area, thanks to Misae's thoughtfulness. She has still been there for me for various things I've needed or wanted to learn about Japan, and I'm sure for anyone considering taking one of her tours, she will become a highlight of your experience here and an essential part of your travel family. Highly recommend!!
