Chinese Fishing Nets
中国語漁網（チーナ・ヴァラ、）は、インドの定置式昇降網の一種。 漁業用の固定された陸に設置する漁網です。 インドでは中国語漁網として一般的に知られていますが、このような網のより正式名称は、陸上で作動するリフト網です。 巨大な機械仕掛けが横20m以上の横網を張る。 各構造物の高さは少なくとも10mで、海上に張られた網と、もう一方の端にロープで吊るされた大きな石をカウンターウェイトとして、最大6人の漁師からなるチームが操作するカンチレバーで構成されている。 このような網は中国南部やインドシナ沿岸全域で利用されているが、インドでは、ほとんどがインドの高知やコッラムで見られ、観光名所となっている。 この漁法はインドでは珍しく、14世紀に上陸してきた中国語人探検家によって伝えられたように、ほぼこの地域独自のものである。 確かに、高知という都市名の解釈のひとつに、中国のような意味を持つ「コチン」があります。
Church of Saint Francis
高知の高知砦（コーチン砦）にある聖フランシスコ教会は、もともと1503年に建てられたインド最古のヨーロッパ教会のひとつで、亜大陸におけるヨーロッパ植民地闘争の口封じの証人として歴史的意義が大きい。ポルトガル語人探検家ヴァスコ・ダ・ガマは、1524年に3度目のインド訪問の折に高知で亡くなった。 遺体は当初この教会に埋葬されたが、14年後に遺体はリスボンに運び出された。

He explained a lot about Kerala’s rich culture in a way that was simple, engaging, and easy to understand. We especially loved how he introduced us to Kochi’s hidden gems and gave us great insights into the Biennale. The whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable, and his friendly nature made it even better. Highly recommended!

He is a very open minded and friendly guy whose highest priority is to make his guest happy. When we passed a cafe we took the time to sit down and have a little rest. He even gave us the chance to try popular local drinks. We can highly recommend Safeer’s tour!

5.00Kochi is the “Queen of Arabian Sea” . It’s a vibrant cosmopolitan city rich in heritage , culture, traditions with great historical features along with beautiful modernization. It’s a unique blend of all the above features which makes this place truly the best and must visit a wish list destination. I took a tuk tuk from Fort Kochi. Aneesh my guide was really awesome a gem of a person. Very kind hearted and friendly. He took me all around Kochi and I fell in love with this beautiful coastal land.
