5.00Our guide Atsuko Kitani was a wonder. She even scouted the location of our machiya days before our arrival to assure our meeting would be smooth. At the outset there was some confusion about our itinerary, but without skipping a beat Atsuko cheerfully juggled the schedule she had so carefully prepared and we were able to visit all the sites we had requested -- and then some! Our walk along the Philosopher's Path (with an unexpected riverside shopping experience) was a highlight of the day. Atsuko was loads of fun and VERY generous with her time and knowledge of Kyoto. We loved seeing the city through her eyes.
