  A great trip getting to see many of the places LOTR was filmed in. Amy, our guide, was very friendly and informative throughout the entire day. We had a nice small group, so that made it even better. Getting to go to a location only Pure Glenorchy is allowed to go to is an added bonus. Would recommend as a great way to spend half a day from Queenstown.

  This tour is everything a LOTR fan could want. Dan our driver and tour guide was very knowledgeable and showed us amazing location spots and facts about the movies, characters and books, including The Silmarillion, if that tickles your fancy. The road trip to Glenorchy is stunning and there are plenty of stops along the way for photos and videos and commentary about movie location spots. Costume dress ups was a highlight. Loved our day on this tour, would definitely do again and highly recommend it. Special thanks to Dan for being a wonderful, gracious host.

  Beautiful scenery and great guide giving us so much detail. Fun option of dressing as LOTR if you want to while in the forest. Max our guide had an amazing amount of knowledge about the movie as well as the history of the beautiful country. Was a great trip and highly recommend it.

  Great sites. Our guide (Max) was exceptional. A.great way to explore Lake Wakatipu area. Drive between Queenstown and Glenorchy worth it alone.

  I absolutely loved this tour! Max was a delight you could really tell how much he loves Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings franchise. Would completely recommend this to anyone looking for a visually beautiful tour that highlights all the amazing world of Middle Earth.

  Awesome tour. Weather was a bit average for half of it but Max worked around it well and we spent little time in rain. Really enjoyed the commentary throughout the trip from Max. Great value for the cost.

  It was an incredible experience the guide was extremely informative and helpful. He took us through the amazing points and fed us some yummy cookies and tea/ hot chocolate. The fee was worth it and the visit was on time doesn’t let us feel bored or tired at all . The information about the movies , wild life , history of the places kept us hooked up throughout the trip.

  Fab, fun experience with lots of nuggets of information that brought the tour to life. The guide, Amy, was extremely knowledgeable and worked hard to ensure everyone was included. Sharing images of scenes from the LOTR films in various locations helped to give context and excitement about where we were. The group worked well even though I was on my own - I think the shared enthusiasm for the subject helped! I'd definitely recommend this tour for LOTR fans, not least because it allows access to areas that other tours don't have.
